“Truly tropical”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2013

Worth every dollar. The garden is full of lush beautiful tropical plants and very peaceful. You don't feel at all like you are on a major tourist street but are on a tropical island. Beautiful pool and spa for your use. Breakfast was delicious they make the absolute best quiche room we chose was small but very pleasant and quality furnishings and bathroom fixtures. Location was perfect, shopping, restaurants ,art galleries, tourist attractions and beach just steps or a few short blocks away. Easily walkable to anything you want to see and do.

Just got back from a 10 day stay in beautiful Key West. We rented a condo with another couple in Truman Annex for 7 nights, but since we were staying an extra 2 nights by ourselves we wanted to stay somewhere special. Luckily a friend of mine that is a local told my emphatically to stay at the Tropical Inn, and since I trust her opinion implicitly and this is where they stayed on their wedding night I booked without hesitation and I'm thrilled that I did. The pool & courtyard are beautiful & so peaceful. We had a lovely room called the Conch Courtyard and it was spectacular! Cute little private patio behind a picket fence by the beautiful pool, darling room with maybe the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in! Wonderful breakfast & enjoyed being next to Vino's on Duval for obvious reasons. The Tropical Inn "Love Lock" really made it that much more special. Loved it from the moment we walked in and were greeted by Brandi & Shelby to the sad moment we left. This is my 12th visit to KW, "our" 1st trip to KW together, our 1st stay at the Tropical Inn but it won't be our last! Already planning our next trip which will include a stay at this wonderful Inn. Thanks for making our first trip to KW so very special!

My wife & I spent ages trying to find the "right" Inn to stay during our time in Key West - and we're so glad we finally decided on the Tropical Inn. We had booked the Key Lime loft, and although its a small room, we had a truly memorable time here. We were very warmly greeted by Brandi at check in and she made sure we were settled into the room & ensured we knew where everything was on the property. The pool area is so cute - again, not the largest pool - but absolutely perfect after a day in the Key West sunshine.
The breakfast laid on everyday was ideal for the location & perfect for our needs.
A big thanks to all at the Tropical Inn for making our trip such a memorable one!!

First time we have ever stayed in a bed and breakfast and the experience at the Tropical Inn in Key West far exceeded our expectations. Brandi, Shelby, Jane and Allen were very gracious hosts by providing us with directions to local activities and restaurants in the area. All the places recommended were excellent and we had an enjoyable four day stay in Key West. The staff was very friendly, our room was beautiful and well maintained, the breakfast on the back porch really made our day, and the garden and pool area was quiet and beautiful. It is in the middle of Duval Street and is within walking distance of any place you need to go. I read through the guest experience book that was located on the night table in our room and I did not find a negative anywhere in the writings. Thanks for a great vacation. You could probably describe the Tropical Inn as a "little piece of Heaven".

The hideaway cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway. It is secluded, and it has a relaxing spa for two. It is straight out of a romance dreamscape! The location is also right in the middle of all the Key West fun.

This was the perfect honeymoon B&B. We stayed at the pineapple hideaway cottage which had an entrance off of shaver street. It was a wonderful room with microwave and full fridge plus therapeutic spa for two! They have bikes on premise to rent which was extremely convenient and a must to tour the island. The breakfast is a cold breakfast but had plenty of options and there are also many terrific restaurants within walking distance. The B&B office actually is on Duval street. The caretakers are wonderful and will make recommendations and accommodations for you to make your stay amazing. We also purchased the love lock to put on their cage and cannot wait to return for future anniversaries.

We have stayed at numerous B&B's throughout the country and the Tropical Inn is one of our favorites. The location on Duval is perfect being almost dead center. It is away from the large night crowds but only a few blocks walking or biking from Key West establishments like Blue Heaven, The Green Parrott and many others. Next door is a great little wine shop and a bakery is on the other side. Our room, Gecko's Garden, was a great selection to celebrate our 20 year anniversary with a large bathroom, a great private patio to enjoy a few drinks and just off an area next to the tropical courtyard and pool. The service staff was very cordial. Brandi and Shelby made excellent recommendations on food and activities and were extremely helpful in answering any questions. The owners, Tom and Jane, were great as well. If traveling up the Keys back to Miami, ask for Jane's Keys travel guide on recommendations on places to eat and visit. It made our anniversary getaway one of our best trips ever.
