“Lovely place and great service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2013

Our two nights stay has been too short! Upon arrival we have been checked in nicely and we have been provided with a map of Key West. The room was very spacious and so lovely and clean we almost wanted to stay in during the evening, but of course we are not on holiday to stay inside! Also the location is perfect! 2 steps away from the Duval street where you can find many shops and restaurants. Everything is at walking distance but if we had stayed longer we surely would have loved renting a bicycle.
The bed & breakfast is small and very friendly decorated, it almost feels like home! Breakfast was excellent and the kindness of the receptionists much appreciated!
Thank you for everything!

Marijke,

We can't blame you for wanting to stay in, but we're glad that you decided to get out and enjoy the city! It sounds like you had a blast here in Key West, and we couldn't be happier to hear it. We hope to welcome you back next time you're looking to get away!

Warm regards,
Seascape Guest Services

This was our 2nd visit to this B & B, and while still very nice, it has lost some of it's luster. There are new owners and to their credit they kept things pretty much the same I just wish I could have met them. We were there from Monday, March 25th until Friday 29th and the 4 different people that we saw working there were very nice, but no one introduced themselves as the owner. The breakfast is adequate-coffee, tea, bagels, muffins, fresh fruit and waffles, and the mimosas are a nice touch. They still have the courtesy fridge with soda, water, beer & wine. The room we had was room #1 which although very neat and clean, when we first arrived it had a very strong musty odor. We left the window open for 2 days and sprayed with Febreese and it cleared up. I would not recommend this room because it is right by the front door and 2 windows open to the front porch, and the other 2 face the storage space under the stairs. If people come and go late at night you here the door slamming. The Inn is in a great location, right off Duval Street away from the noise but still close to everything. I would still recommend the Seascape Tropical Inn, but next time we go we will probably try something different. One warning about Key West-Roosters! Bring ear plugs for sleeping or you will be awakened very early every morning. I am not kidding they are very loud and plentiful. The seascape provides ear plugs if you need them and they were greatly appreciated.

Thank you for staying with us once again. Although we were delighted to hear your compliments, we are as concerned as you were about the odor you described. We apologize, and we will certainly look into this. That said, you are correct about the roosters—they can become quite loud! Thank you for leaving such great tips for fellow travelers, and for your kind words. We hope to make the necessary upgrades and host your next trip to Key West.

Best,

I loved this hidden diamond. I was skeptical after reading some reviews on the staff - but was pleased when I arrived. The staff was friendly - the room was great. we stayed in room 6 without own little terrace and sun chairs.
Perfect location and in the middle either sides on Key West. Bring your ear plugs because the rooster will wake you up!
The breakfast was good and it was great to have water bottles and drinks whenever you wanted (with a small donation). You can pay for parking if you wish and the lot is a couple of blocks down, but we were lucky and found parking right in ffrontI would definalty recommend it.

We stayed in quiet and comfortable Room 6 upstairs. The manager was accommodating for storing our bags after check-out, because we were taking the ferry to Dry Tortugas National Park all day. Initially, we needed only one night's stay; Seascape had that, when most B&Bs require multiple nights during high season. Unfortunately, when we needed to stay longer, Seascape was fully booked, and we had to relocate.

FYI: The price was reasonable compared with many places in the Keys during high season.

We did not get to try the breakfast, since it starts at the late hour of 8:00 or 8:30, and we had to check in at the ferry by 7:15.

Staff hours are not firm. The office was supposed to be open until 6:00 P.M., but closed early. If I hadn't remembered the after-hours code, we would not have been able to get our bags! Lesson learned: Consider all Key West hours of operation as "-ish". Island time, you understand.

Room Tip: Rooms 5 & 6 are up steep stairs and share a patio with an uneven surface. It overlooks the Hemin...

While Key West does tend to run on a more relaxed schedule, we work hard to be available for our guests at all times. It seems that we have fallen short, and we apologize. Still, we're glad that you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for making us a part of your trip. We hope to welcome you back during your next visit to Key West!

CAUTION: room doors automatically lock (if you forget your keys, you're locked out!)...and the owner does not live on-site and was not available by phone when we had a night-time emergency.

If you want to be right in the heart of the action, this is the place to stay. Right on the corner of Olivia and Duval (the main party street). Take your earplugs - the roosters crow every couple of hours! Overall, the place was quite clean. The outdoor whirlpool was relaxing (although not very hot) and we enjoyed breakfast on our sunny, private patio outside of our upstairs room.

While the young lady at the desk was nice enough, she was not very personable/helpful - very business-like, just doing her job. When we had our incident, there was no compensation offered. There is no parking on premises, so you have to find your own on the street (which can be very difficult). There is no hot breakfast foods, the bathroom needs upgraded (bathroom cabinet was falling apart), we were not told how to turn on the whirlpool jets. Overall, not deserving of a 4 star rating.

Room Tip: We staying in the upstairs queen room.

We stayed in the Havana room. It had a loft and small kitchen. Felt very roomy with high ceiling. Shower was very tiny though. We also had a seperate entrance. Several little sitting areas throughout the b&b. Good location. Our first time in Key West. I don't know if we just got lucky with this place or if most of the b&b's are good here. Would definitely stay here again. PS bring earplugs cuz the roosters will wake you at the crack of dawn!;)

This was my first trip to KW and I can say my stay at Seascape was wonderful. The staff, upkeep of the inn, food and the small special touches just made our stay absolutely perfect. I liked being right there by Duvall without the noise. Quiet place to stay but close to activity. We were in the king room with the deck and loved having our own spot to sit and relax. The continental breakfast and mimosas were a great touch. Will definitely visit again.

Crawling Duval is always a blast, but sometimes it's nice to get away from all that activity for a little quiet relaxation. We're delighted to hear how much you enjoyed your stay with us, Bettie. Thank you for taking the time to share your story with fellow travelers. We look forward to your next visit—we'll have a mimosa waiting for you!
