Thanks to the very good reviews on tripadvisor I have found this small and most beautiful place in Key West. It was my first time at a B&B, but definitely not the last and hopefully not the last at The Popular House.
We have got the balcony back room and it was so quiet and peaceful - wow, that was definitely heaven on earth to me and my friend. We have found a parking space right in front of the house without any trouble and were moving the car not even once during our 3 days in Key West, because everything important is located within walking distance if you like to.
We received a warm welcome upon arrival and were shown the commun areas of the house which are decorated with love and lots of good taste. You really feel being at home away from home.
In the morning we have found the kitchen with lots of fresh fruit, self baked cake, bagels and fresh brewed coffee. If you are not sure how to prepare your fresh squeezed orange juice - they will show you :-)
You also get information on important sights and restaurants they can recommend. In the evening after getting back to the house, we were sitting in the salon, reading a little bit and I could not get enough on enjoying the peace and calm we experienced just sitting there. What can I say: do not doubt at all - just make your reservation and ENJOY!!!
On the day of our departure a small tropical storm was coming south, bringing lots of rain. The gentleman who was taking care of us that day showed me on internet what we could expect on the way back to Miami and told us to drive safe and slow. At a regular hotel they would rather worry about your credit card than about you as a person and what you might experience on the way out. That I think also speaks for itself.
THANK YOU FOR SUCH A SPECIAL AND BEAUTIFUL STAY!

We stayed at Key West B&B (The Popular House) for three nights, June 4 - 7, 2009. This was a last minute surprise mini-vacation arranged by my husband who contacted the guesthouse two days prior to our visit to see if there were any rooms available on such short notice. Lucky us, there was one room available, the Pink Room, at an excellent rate of $89 per night.

We arrived Thursday afternoon to hear a big "welcome home" from Liz and Tana. It was so good to hear those words and be back "home" after nearly two years of being away! Liz actually saved us a parking space on the street, but we had already found a spot about a block away in front of a church, so we left the truck parked there for the duration of our visit. This was our third stay at the Key West Bed & Breakfast since 2006. Since we hadn't been there in a couple years, Liz gave us a quick orientation and showed us where the towels are kept for use by the jacuzzi or beach trips, etc. She also showed us how the jacuzzi worked and gave us a run down on the hours for that, as well as breakfast hours. Liz then escorted us upstairs to see our room and left us to get settled in before meeting her downstairs to officially check in.

We stayed in the "Pink Room" which is a small room with a queen sized bed and shared bath on the second floor. There are two bathrooms which are shared by four rooms on this floor. There are also two shared porches, one is on the side of the house and the other (with a hammock) is on the front of the house overlooking William Street. This was our first time with a shared bathroom, but it was not a problem at all. At least one of the bathrooms (and usually both) were always available any time we needed to get in. In the future, if there are no rooms with a private bath available, we wouldn't hesitate to book one with a shared bath here again. The bathrooms, as well as our room and the rest of the entire house, were kept immaculately clean by Tana. She is a doll and a very hard worker! The Pink Room is small, but had everything we needed, including a closet.

The common areas are not only beautiful, they are comfortable and functional, from the living room to the kitchen, porches and back patio (complete with tables and chairs). The kitchen is fully stocked with plates, silverware, glasses (including wine and champagne flutes), etc. and guests are invited to use the refrigerator as well.

I've said it before in other reviews and posts, but I need to say this again. The staff at KWB&B is like family, ready to welcome us and make us feel at home every time we visit. The location is great (on a quiet residential street within quick walking distance to bars and restaurants), the house is beautifully decorated, and the rates make this guesthouse a great value. BUT, it is the staff who make this house a home; they are the true amenities you will find here. Jody Carlson, the owner, has very wisely selected the people who ARE Key West Bed and Breakfast and she has a goldmine in them.

Key West Bed and Breakfast is and will continue to be our first choice in excellent lodging every time we visit Key West!

Myself and girlfriend stayted here after reading the trip advisor reviews. It did have alot to live up to for being number one but i can honestly say that it did just that.
We arrived in the late afternoon for our 4 night stay. Getting a parking space was a little difficult initailly and we had to do a few laps of the block until one came up, but this was the only time we ever had parking.
Upon arrival we met Liz who gave us a great tour of the property and told us loads about Key West including all the tours to do and were to go for great food. These recommendations were great and made our stay in Key West so much better!
Our room was spotless and very roomy with a great AC unit which was a godsend in the heat! The house itself is very nice with lots of balconies to relax on and a great jacuzzi in the back garden.
Every morning we had a amazing breakfast of fresh fruits, top coffee, home baking cakes and feshly squeezed orange juice (all a welcome break from the usual unhealthy American breakfasts).
The B&B is located on a very quiet street but is only a few minutes walk from the marina and a short distance further to Duval St. So close enough to enjoy the hussle and bussle of Key West, but great to escape it.
Overall a wonderful place that we will definately be back to.

We discovered this B & B while researching on-line. It seemed a bit too good to be true as nearly all the reviews were very positive. We took a chance and tried it. Now we know what all the fuss is about. First of all we were personnally greated and given an extensive familiarization of the house as well as Key West and it's restaurants and acitivities. Next we were shown to our room which was emaculate with beatiful artwork (great artwork is displayed thoughout the whole house). Our room was comfortably furnished and even though we were located on the ground floor facing the street, it was nice and quiet. The breakfasts were fantastic including freshly baked goodies, fresh fruit, fresh squeezed orange juice, and fantastic coffee. The house is beautifully restored and has a wonderful garden and spa area in back, including an assortment of orchids. There is a comfortable living room and a great front porch on which to sit and relax. The house pets, dogs Goo and Buddy were cute and friendly. The location was perfect. We parked our car nearby and never used it again until we checked out. About the only thing I would change, is it would be great to be able to get a cup of their wonderul coffee before and / or after the breakfast hours.

We will certainly return on our next visit to Key West.

Liz and the gang made my wife and I feel like we actually lived at the B&B. The best service, the best attitude, and If you are into horticulture, bright colors, and wonderful people, than you must stay here. Let Liz and the gang recommend food for you, if you are not familiar. They were spot on with everywhere we went, and they will make the reservations for you. We WILL be returning soon, and we Will be staying at the Key West B&B. Best stay ever.....
