“My home away from home... Actually better”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2011

I sometimes travel alone and this place makes you feel like you are never alone. It is like renting a room from a family friend. It is clean, friendly, beautiful and close to Duvall. The food for breakfast and happy hours are great and all top shelf. Nothing seems to be too good for their guests. Each employee here does everything they can to make your stay pleasant. I can get accomodations at a lower rate and that still wont change my plans to stay here... As long as the curry mansion will have me, i will be back each year.

Stayed at the Curry Mansion in for a three day trip to Key West. Location is great, right off of Duval Street, but not right in the middle of all the noise. We acutally stayed in the James House directly across the street from the main mansion. It gave us a little more privacy than your typical B&B. Great complimentary breakfast in the AM (made to order omlets) and a complimentary happy hour in the PM. Our room was spacious and clean. Had a fridge to to cool off our beverages and it The staff was friendly and gave us great recommendations for dining and attractions. Would definitely return.

Room Tip: We requested a room in the James House across the street. It gave us more privacy and easy access t...

Gorgeous home once owned by the first millionaire on Key West, converted, along with a guesthouse and another home, into a fabulous place to stay. The Inn was decked out with lights and other holiday decorations during our stay--very festive. Our room had a comfy King Bed with nice amenties like fridge and internet access. It was entered via the pool area which is centrally located like a courtyard between the main house and the buildings of the guest house. Off-street parking(a luxury in Old Town Key West) is included. An amazingly quiet and secure place to stay yet so close to all the "action" of Key West. The included breakfast and happy hour were both plentiful and MORE than adequate, and we enjoyed the musical entertainment during happy hour. We will definitely stay here again.

We have stayed here before and were glad to be back, the staff remembered us which is rare in the hotel business in Key West to have so many long term employees. They must treat the help as well as they treat the customers.
Some hotels in K.W. charge for parking, The Curry Mansion does not and has about 4 different lots. The morning omelet chef was willing to make us as many as we wanted and they were great. After a great day out and about it was fun to come back and have an open bar cocktail party with some cool live music. Both the breakfast and cocktail party are served on the deck near the pool and rooms, it gives you a chance to speak with other guests to get restaurant reviews and ideas of things to do or things to skip.
Our room was clean and bright and we never used the car once we got there, you can walk to everything.
With everything that is included in the price (free wi-fi, breakfast, open bar, free laundry machines, live entertainment) and how close it is to Duval St and all of the attractions it is a great deal.

Room Tip: We have stayed by the pool but our favorite is in the mansion in Room 206 which is huge with a priva...

This visit was my second to Curry Mansion. I stayed this time with my boyfriend for one night. I also stayed here in the late 1990's for Fantasyfest.

The location is fantastic - right off of Duval Street near Sloppy Joe's. You pay for it though, as well a the included amentities. Our small ensuite queen room was about $180 tax inclusive on a Friday night in mid-summer in Florida. That is why I have 4 circle rating and not 5. Curry Mansion amenities include a pool, cocktail hour with free drinks and snacks, and free breakfast. Breakfast was ok. Serve yourself. Muffins, toast, cereal, fruit bowl, coffee and such. They also had an omelette station where someone cooks them for you.

The staff were very nice and helpful.

Parking is available, but quite full. I was lucky that I had a small car which fit against a wall in their lot without blocking someone in.

Our room was a bit, but not terribly, small, but ok for a night. The bed was comfortable enough for one night. The bathroom was large and actually the best part of the room.

Explore all three floors of the house. It has some really neat stuff! The widow's walk has a decent view of Key West as well.

I would stay again, but only if another B&B in as a good of a location did not offer better rates.

We always appreciate guests that take the time to provide us feedback on their stay. It sounds like this guest enjoyed all of our amenities such as the perfect location, free parking on site, free breakfast with made to order omelets and the 2 hour open bar cocktail party but was surprised at the rates in Key West on a summer weekend. There are great deals to be found midweek in the summer and on some of the slower weekends, but on a normal weekend in summer, many Floridians drive down for the weekend and on some weekends when there is a special event, like Lobster Fest for miniseason, all the hotels fill up and rates are not discounted. Like anywhere, deals can be found if you can be flexible in your vacation dates.

Curry Mansion was a repeat trip, an inn with quaint rooms and an interesting past. Once owned by the railroad tycoon it is a large victorian with additional hotel wings. It has a small museum with history of the RR construction and other items related to the Keys. The nice patio serves complimentary breakfast and offers drinks in the late afternoon with a piano player. A block from Duval it is an easy walk, but quite a few min walk from the harbor and it restaurants.

This is a great inn but a bit pricy, and the rooms must fit the original design of the house so they vary. This inn also has some age so the experience was not expected to compete with the new box motels, we loved it .

The Curry Mansion is a must stay when visiting Key West. The rooms are extremely clean and comfortable. It's only a quick walk to busy Duval Street, but surprisingly very quiet. Most rooms open onto the pool deck where breakfast is served to order each morning and drinks and live piano music is enjoyed each evening (at no charge...bonus). We hardly saw the staff....yet everything was always clean and in order. The old mansion (main structure) still looks as though the Curry family still lives there and are only out for the afternoon right down the the ink well and pens layed out on the desk.

We visit the Key West at least once a year....and we found a new place to stay!

Room Tip: I found evey area of this property to be quiet, clean and quaint. Almost all guests attended breakfa...
