“Showing its age, but well loved”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2013

It's the oldest attraction in Key West, and you can tell. It's not the slick aquarium we're all used to.
But it is well maintained and interesting.
Take the guided tour (no extra fee) -- staff is informative and you get to touch and/or feed a shark.

“Sweet Little Aquarium”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2013

Although this aquarium is probably the smallest I have ever been to, it was well taken care of, has a variety of fish, has indoor and outdoor exhibits, allows you to feed the fish (bring some change for the outside machines) and is important in helping with the economy and fish population.
The first tank is stingrays, which is low to the ground and you are allowed to touch them. They used an old boat to hold some crazy jelly fish - very creative! The eels were just freaky and sort of stood on their tails glaring at you. The last floor tank had large shark in it, and not a few, but several circling their tank.
I enjoyed this as much as my 7-yr-old grandson!

“Great little aquarium”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2013

It is small but a fun place to visit. If you get a chance request the tour guide, Leah. She is awesome and full of energy. She is a wealth of information. Please support the marine mammals and fish that live there by visiting this oldest attraction in key west.

“Great for kids”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2013

This is my second visit and after twelve years, it is still the quaint little aquarium it was before. Some of the aquarium tanks are amazing, like the moray eels. The stony corals are so beautiful you would think they aren't real..til you see them swaying in the water. It really is a little aquarium but it is great for children. 30 minutes is about all the time you need to complete your tour. If you are looking for amazingly big tanks with tons of fish, this is not the aquarium to visit.

“A fun place to stop for a while”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

The Key West Aquarium is nice if you have kids or you enjoy marine life. They do a nice job helping injured sea life and rehabbing injured turtles. It's certainly not one of the best aquariums I've been to but I believe it is Key West's oldest attraction. It's located in the middle of the Key West tourist area so it's very convenient to take 30 minutes to an hour out to check out the fish. Stop by and check it out.
