Stayed at the Comfort Inn Key West the first week of November. It's a moderately rated property so I don't know why people expect the red carpet treatment. The hotel is older but then again, most hotels within the Choice Hotel chain are. The price was around $110.00/night plus tax which I thought was reasonable considering all the other hotels in Key West were over $180.00/night plus tax! You can easily get to Duval Street either by driving, and parking there...there is a parking lot on Simonton near the Blond Giraffe for $10.00 all day, or take the Key West Trolley...information can be obtained in the Welcome Center next door to the hotel.
The room was average, a little wear and tear, but nothing to cry about. The bathroom could have used a little more cleaning, but again....beach/ocean destination...there will be some sand/dirt.
Continental breakfast was wonderful! Waffle maker, coffee, bagels, pastries, toast, hard boiled eggs, fruit, juice, milk, cereal, etc. Plenty of tables to sit at as well.
Just another FYI, this is an outdoor entrance hotel. Your door leads directly outside...no hallways/corridors to walk down in the interior of the hotel.
