“Intimate boat ride, lots of dolphins and great snorkeling!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

Our tour guide/ boat driver was really nice and knowledgeable about the animals we saw. We had great water, and watched dolphins playing and sleeping and chasing each other, up to within 10 feet of the boat. Wow! With only 4 of us on the boat he lets you help decide where to go. The snorkeling is also REALLY fantastic- better than Dry Tortugas. We saw tons of different fish- parrotfish, tons of barracuda, and others saw rays.

There was water available as well as light snacks- but it's definitely not a dinner cruise.

“Wonderful morning with friendly bottlenose dolphins!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013 via mobile

We have just returned from a 3- day visit to KeyWest, our first. I had booked the Dolphin Watch after reading all the wonderful reviews on tripadvisor! It was just as great as it had seemed from most reviews! We got to the harbor early and enjoyed the board walk and looking at the boats first. We easily located the Patty C catamaran, and Captain John. He let us know that it would only be the two of us with him on the boat that morning, which was great news for us, though not as great for him I expect ( the normal pax is 6 people)From the start, Captain John was very friendly and explained everything we needed to know before starting. We started a little early since we were ready. The sea was smooth, the scenery fantastic. Captain John communicated with other boats and sson we saw our first " sleepy" dolphins. They gradually woke up , and towards theendof the morning, they were really fast and hard to photograph! we saw lots of them, we were able to see them very close when they circled round the ship, it was a marvellous experience, something to remember for the rest of our lives. We enjoyed little treats onboard ( crisps and fruit) and there was some cold bottled water available too. Captain John answered all our questions about Dolphins, and did all he could to ensure we saw many of them throughout the morning. We chose not to snorkel, but I understand you can see additional marine life if you do, like turtles for example. In conclusion, this is a very enjoyable tour, you get to see lots of dolphins, and Captain John is an excellent guide. Thank you, Captain, for a unique experience! If we return to Key West we'll sail with you again to see more dolphins!

“Just the Best Day...Ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

We just got back from our 4 hour excursion with Dolphin Watch and Captain John. John is a knowledgeable guide that shared the wonderful world of dolphins with us and took us to a great reef to do some snorkeling- no other boats around! We picked this outfitter because he books only 6 people at a time. We are a family of 4 and there were no others with us- so it was a private tour for us. John is friendly and treated my 10 year old twins with care and engaged their curiosity. We enjoyed the cruise, the music and just appreciating the tropical paradise. I would definitely book with Dolphin Watch again because John was such a good guide and person. I booked with him the day before just after spring break with online reservations. It was easy to book. Read the website, it will tell you what to bring- dolphinwatchusa.com.

“Dolphins in nature!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2013

My wife and I were on our honeymoon and wanted to see dolphins in the wild and not in captivity. This was the perfect trip for us. We saw several dolphins despite the cool and windy day that we sailed. Unfortunately, it was too cold for snorkeling but hey, that's mother nature - unpredictable. It was still worth it to see the dolphins and enjoy the nice boat ride. Capt. John brought along a cooler so we were able to keep our lunch cold. There is a cafe literally 20 feet from the boat so you can order something, even lunch items, in the morning before you go. Chips, fruit, and water were already provided on the boat. There is also a bathroom on the boat. At only 6 people per trip it was nice and personal so you could chat with the other couples or just sit on the bow and enjoy the view. We even, along with another boat, tried to help a pelican who had some fishing line stuck on his wing. No such luck, he was too skiddish, but it was nice to see the concern and effort to try to help him out. (He could still fly so I hope the little guy was unable to untangle himself). The ride was very smooth even with the water being choppy. One of the men riding along said he was prone to sea sickness but had no problems on the boat. I would definitely recommend this excursion while in Key West!

“fantastic trip :-)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

We can recommend this trip to everybody who is interested in watching dolphins!
We have booked this trip a few months before our arrival in Key West. On the previous day Captain John gave us a call and informed us that weather conditions will not be perfect (windy and rather cool) and it´s our choice if we will make the trip nevertheless. We decided to do it and it was the right decision. We have seen some dolphins and the boat trip itself was very relaxing and interesting. Captain John is a great guide and gave us very useful information. All in all a perfect trip!
