I've stayed at several different hotel/motels and B&Bs in Key West and based on the senior's rate of $90 a night, this was an excellent value. It is on the Atlantic side near the Southern most point, about a mile and a half from Mallory Square, so bring lots of quarters for parking meters in town ($1. per hour). This is a Best Western motel in the Tropics, not a tropical hotel, but the pool area is large and clean with a great hot tub. Started a week's stay the day after Katrina came through but the grounds had already been cleaned up. Room was large, with two queen beds and had a refrigerator, microwave and a table four could sit at. Maid service was excellent. There is a bike and scooter rental in the parking lot. The only downer was that the desk attendents were not the most cheerful bunch and the continental breakfast was not worth walking to the lobby for. There are two excellent restaurants within a block, Abbondanza and Camilles, when you want to pay for good food instead of the view.
