A very comfortable hotel and an excellent location. If you're visiting Key West, you should avoid any of the "beachfront" hotels. Most of the "beaches" in the keys are little more than spits of sand, often cluttered with drift wood, and the beaches of Key West are no exception. Don't get me wrong, Key West is definitely one of the coolest towns in Florida (although it can be a bit touristy/trashy on Duval) and well worth a visit, just not worth paying for beachfront accomodations. If you're looking for a clean, convenient, reasonably priced room, this is the place for you. The hotel has a hot tub, decent size pool, scooter and bike rentals, and free on-site parking (hard to come by in Key West). Located only a block from Duval, two blocks from the Southernmost Point, and a short fifteen minute walk from Mallory square, this hotel is conveniently located in a quiet part of town. Skip the expensive hotels outside the city claiming to be beachfront, and pick the Best Western, a B & B, or some other accomodations in old town Key West.

We stayed at the Hibiscus from August 11th - 6 nights. Our room was very large and well appointed. The bathroom was a good size (with a window) and very clean. In fact, the whole room was very clean. Our king size bed was comfortable and their is a small fridge in the room as well as a coffee maker. Both came in ver handy. We also appreciated the wirless internet which was free and worked very well. The pool is nice as well as the whirlpool tub and the staff at the front desk are very nice and friendly. The breakfast is the only downside. It's a waste of time. Not much on offer in a small, dingly area off the lobby. Hard to find and not woth the effort. All in all a good hotel and good value. We paid $99.00 per night and were very satisfied. I would be hard pressed to pay any more here but would stay again if the rate was in this range.

My family of four just stayed here for 2 days. Yes, this is a motel ...a really nice motel though. We found the room to be VERY large, clean and with very comfortable beds.The bathroom was super clean and well stocked with plenty of fluffy towels. The room also had a extra sink outside of the bathroom... was nice with four people using the room.Room was decorated nicely for a motel.The location is excellent. Quiet area but close to Duval street and southern most point. We also walked both evenings to Mallory Square... It was a long walk but fun and totally do- able ! My parents are 67 and 79 years old and they did the walk too! The motel has ample parking. They also have moped/bike rental right out front if you need that. We did not try the Cont. breakfast as it was put away by 9 am each morning...but there are plenty of nearby places to get breakfast. Pool was quite large and lovely. Staff is friendly and professional and offered dining tips to us. We are not bed and breakfast type people so this motel worked out great for us. If you a need a nice,clean , realiable within budget place to stay I say give this place a try!

We have rented homes close to old town, too noisy and never a sunny enough pool. We have stayed in hotels that were more expensive.We've found the Hibiscus to have everything we need. Great pool. Great rate. Clean. Conveniently located.
