The amateur photos give a much better representation of the hotel overall than the professional ones. When I arrived I drove back out saying to my family "this can't be the place". Sadly it was. Of course Key West is expensive and you get what you pay for but I think the place is oversold - it is a budget motel with a good pool area.

The breakfast area is staggeringly bad - even by budget motel standards.

Room Tip: A family of 4 into a double room doesn't really work because it is a double room as distinct fro...

With prices being so expensive in Key West, I was expecting less for this hotel, but it surprised me. Hotel is older on the outside, but clean and remodeled on the inside. There were lots os little 'extras' like a microwave and small fridge, paper plates and forks inside the microwave, nice couch in the room. The pool is very tropical, surronded by palm trees and the landscaping is well taken care of, full of flowers. The only thing that i would change is the AC. They had a wall AC in our room, that has to run all the time, or it would get muggy, it was a little loud cycling thru fan and ac... overall, it was a pretty good hotel!

We had a large room with balcony and Ocean View. The room was clean and well furnished. The reception is very friendly, no wait time. There's a road between the motel and the ocean and no beech, but this was ok for us. Very close to the airport, Dry Tortugas Flights are in walking distance. Nice Swimming Pool, too. What we didn't like too much were noisy neighbors (no blame to the hotel) and the very spartan (and a little bit grubby) loveless breakfast room. Large Parking Lot (you definitely need a car to visit Key West), safety box, fridge, WiFi... everything you need. May be too expensive... it's Key West.

Room Tip: Second floor: better view, first floor: better for luggage. No noise problem with the road or the ai...

It was OK overall except we found a cockroach in our room. The location is not bad. It's quite near to the beach, but if you would like to see the sunset or go to the walking street (Duval St) You might wanna stay on the oppostie site of the island.

We were typical sightseers spending most of our day time and evenings visiting local attractions. We particularly enjoyed ending our day in such peaceful, comfortable surroundings. We only wish the pool had been open later.

We had an ocean front 2nd floor balcony room w/king bed. The room was spotless, the bathroom was also though a bit dated. The toilet,tub/shower are in separate area from long vanity and sink. Micro and coffee maker in the LR. Nicely appointed room w/sofa,lounge, desk, chair, wifi, many lights and many electric outlets! Each day the housekeeper did outstanding job and even added little touches like a pair of swans made from the towels, decorating the room as a farewell gesture . There is a daily breakfast and the 2 ladies running it, Shaneeka and Marcia, go out of their way to make things comfortable for the guests. The breakfast opens at 7 but a guest leaving earlier will be allowed to have breakfast before departure. Also there is an outside, covered patio should one wish to eat outside. There is also a mangrove area to walk beside. There is a dog area also. KW roads are narrow and parking isn't always easy so we paid to use the Old Town Trolley. The Trolley stops at the W every 1/2 hr all day long. And goes around the island with 13 convenient stops. This is the best Best Western we have stayed at. Gorgeous tropical plantings, clean rooms, OUTSTANDING staff who were always cheerful and genuinely concerned about the guests' experience there. We do need to add this caveat though: Traffic noise- the 1A1/S.Roosevelt Highway is between the strait of Fl. and the hotel BUT ALL the hotels/resorts are on the other side of the road so none of them is without some road noise. We simply closed the balcony slider and it was silent in the room. We recommend the BW for value and comfort. We plan to go back.

I enjoy staying at this Best Western when I go to Key West, Florida. The hotel rooms have been completely renovated. The prices are reasonable, the rooms are very clean and the staff is awesome. There is also plenty of close parking which is rare in Key West.
