Part of our Ruby anniversary present from our daughter - Key West was heaven with dolphins and Key Lime Inn a fitting accompaniment. We arrived around midnight but there were staff to welcome us and a bottle of champagne on ice waiting in our well-appointed room set in a cabin with a patio, close to a swimming pool. It was a wonderful stay and the Inn made the experience of visiting the Keys perfect.

First time to the Keys.. Anniversary trip spent @ Key Lime Inn. We reserved Cottage #20/ Absolutely fabulous well appointed room ,, private deck, fabulous staff , great pool for AM and after a long fun day needing a cool down.. Easy walking to +++ restaurants, shopping on Duval but far enough away for no noise.. Highly recommend for couples..

Room Tip: Cottages are nice but more expensive

End of March, my wife and I staid for a week at the Key Lime Inn in Key West. All in all, we enjoyed our stay, and what ever short-comings the hotel had was made up by the helpful staff.

When we arrived, we noticed that the room was very hot, so we cranked up the air and went out to dinner. When we got back, it was pretty late, and the room was still hot ...hotter that outside actually ...... so off to the front desk I went to complain. The lady there seemed genuinely horrified, and said maintenance would be around to check on it. Sure enough .... 10 mins later the maintenance fellow dropped by, and confirmed we had a dead A/C unit. He said he'd be back in an hour with the replacement. He wasn't kidding. Pickup truck showed up in an hour with the maintenance crew and we had our new A/C running in about 15 mins. I would say that set the tone for our stay .... the staff will do anything to make your time there enjoyable.

The room (18) consisted of a small detached cottage, with a little patio out front. Size wise it was comfortable, with a lounging area, flat screen TV, good sized closet, dresser, and a pretty good bathroom. The coffee station and small bar fridge were in the bathroom. We were a good distance from Truman, and with all the trees and plants, the traffic noise was somewhat muted. The cleaning lady did a great job keeping the place clean. I read that some people complained about wireless internet access only being available in the hotel proper. We were on the far side of the property and never had any trouble picking up the signal. Perhaps the hotel upgraded it. The bed was very comfortable.

The hotel has a good sized pool that was kept very clean. This was a welcome change from the Aylbury Court hotel we staid at last trip. There the pool was the size of a over large bath tub.

Location wise, its in an excellent spot. Duval is close buy, and there are several restaurants up and down the street. This is "old town" in the parlance of the Conchs, so there are wonderful century old mansions all about. Once you are on Duval, you are about equidistant from the beaches on the south island and the downtown area in the north.

Ok, that's all the good stuff. Some minor complaints.

The safe in the room was rather pathetic. I'm pretty sure you could have pried it open with a butter knife .... and there was no combination. Just a skimpy key. Considering how much we paid for the room I would have expected a decent safe.

Breakfast was the usual continental type. Coffee, juice, bagels, cereal ...that sort of thing. Didn't bother me, but my wife would have liked more variety.

If you want to spend a day at the pool, make sure you stake your turf early. Many people at the hotel had the annoying habit of throwing their towel on a lounger by the pool indicating its in use....and then they disappear for several hours. That observation is more of a statement on how inconsiderate some people are when they travel then a fault with the hotel

Summing up ...we had a great relaxing time. But it wasn't an inexpensive one. It cost us more than $300 a night for this room. For that much, I would have expected somewhat more than we got. That being said, we still had a great time here, so after much debate with my wife, I'll give it four stars.

Room Tip: Stay as far away from Truman as you can. Its the principle east-west road on that part of the island...

Great location, walking distance to Duval Street, historic homes and beaches. Inn was clean, pool area well maintained. Only thing missing...key lime pie in the afternoon. Would recommend this inn to anyone going to Key West.

We enjoyed our stay 4/10/-4/12/2013. Everything was wonderful from the check-in to the check-out. Secluded from Duvall but only a couple of blocks away. I don't understand anyone giving this lovely place a bad review. Loved being close to Duvall without the noise. Blue Heaven is the best restuarant/bar. Try the Heavens Punch.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for our 3 year anniversary and must say we absolutely LOVED This little gem of an inn. We've never been the kind to spend over 100.00 on a hotel room but this was WELL worth the money paid. Although the rooms are small in the regular queen rooms they are cozy for a couple who just want relaxation time and a place to sleep at night away from the noise of duval street.

When we first arrived the young lady at the front desk was super nice and friendly. She told us exactly where outroom was and everything in proximity of our room, told us about great restaurants and little attractions to look at. they had even upheld our request for a room close to the pool!

the room in general, yes is small but very quaint and comfortable for 2. A nice size television adorns the room a sink/vanity area and a small chest as well. the bathroom to me was a little too small but that's also because I'm not a supermodel skinny woman, I have curves and need space to stand in the shower! No tub just a standing shower and unless you and your husband, wife, fiancé or fiancée, partner boyfriend, girlfriend WHATEVER they are, is a tiny person no bigger than a toothpick, "shower time " recommended to be separate.

The walk to duval from the hotel is short, only about 10 minutes. And if you want more than the cereal and bagel breakfast the continental breakfast of the inn offers there is a Denny's right down the road from the inn.

The pool is gorgeous, quite large compared to initial photos of it being "small". Ample seating around the pool. There are also a couple hammocks on the property.

The housekeepers are extremely nice and very efficient.

Just overall had a great time!!!

We are already planning to make another trip back to key west for this year and will definitely be staying at this place again!!!
