“The Banyan, fun in the sun in Key West!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2010

Wonderful Christmas in the keys. It was the down time for the city, but lots to do and excellent shopping. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the porch of the banyan and watching the local color go by. The Tiki Bar at the resort was a huge improvement. New make over is great as is the new hot tub. Gardens have come back since the hurricane and saw some hummingbirds. Will definitely go back next Christmas. Oh, and our new family tradition ...cooked low country boil in the fully stocked kitchen.

Beautiful gardens, fabulous sunsets, friendly and knowledgeable management and staff. Greenwich village with palm trees. The cleanest air in the United States. Endless water, excellent food. Two pools a jacuzzi, and a tiki bar. Our own banyan tree amazingly beautiful, largest on the island. Centrally located in Old Town, a five minute walk to Mallory Square for sunset ritual. My husband and I love it here.

If you're looking for an island get away without the plane or boat trip, Key West is the place. In key west the Banyan is the place! Located one block off Duval, two blocks from the Gulf of Mexico in a secluded tropical garden "estate". Island music at the Tiki Bar and great food and ice cold beverages. All offered by an awesome staff headed up by Onett. Who also is the owner of Sippin, a coffee shop located just across Eaton near the Tropic Cinema! If you are like me and need to keep in touch with friends throughout the country, the Banyan's new wifi system is state of the art. Two pools and a brand new hot spa where you really get relaxed in preparation for your night on the town or just winding down before bed. Friendly people and friendly staff.

Picture a resort destination developed around a group of homes listed on the National Historic Registry. Place them in the middle of "Old Town" Key West. Have them surround a garden setting with pools, fountains and lush foliage. Lovingly convert them into one and two bedroom condo suites with full kitchens and you can begin to picture the Banyan Resort. We fell in love with this place. The staff bent over backwards for us. The food and drink at at their Tiki Hut was yummy! They told us the beds had recently been upgraded and they were so comfortable. The furnishings, while not upscale were "island comfortable." Close your eyes and you could pretend for a moment you've found paradise.

The Banyan is a great location with character. So close to Duval, yet a world away. The gardens are special with the huge banyan trees! New mattresses and linens are very comfy. It's nice to have a kitchen to make snakes or whole meals. I can't wait to go back!

The Banyan is one block off Duval at the corner of Whitehead and Eaton within walking distance to everything. By resort standards The Banyan is small, but that makes it more like a family compound. You'll know the staff and the other guests by the end of your stay from meeting around one of the pools or having a drink or lunch at the Tiki Bar. I love the lush, tropical grounds and especially the Banyan trees. We stayed in a one bedroom unit on the lower level, queen bed, 2 TVs, free wireless internet, small kitchen and living area, 2 decks. We used the gas grills to bbq a few times and ate at the table on the deck. There are 2 small markets within walking distance, so shopping for just what you need is easy. Lots of restaurant choices from $ to $$$$ within a 10 minute walk. I can't wait to go back.

The Banyan was the perfect place to stay in at Key West. We were there during Spring Break (although they technically don’t allow spring breakers) and had a blast (without being too loud at the resort). It was the perfect place to stay; great access to Duval Street and the pier at night, but quiet and relaxing with trees, nice pools and plenty of sun during the day. While the resort is far from the beaches, bike rentals are easy and affordable. I loved Banyan and hope to go back sooner than later.
