“A lush retreat just off Duval Street”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

This was my wife, and myself's 3rd visit, and there will definitely be a 4th! The staff is very friendly, professional and helpful. As soon as we checked into our room, we were greeted with a glass of wine. We had requested room 24 which is one of the newer rooms next to a waterfall, and luckily it was available. I don't think there is a bad room at the hotel, but the rooms near the waterfall are beautiful, and have a wonderful view of the lush gardens by the pool. It really is quite spectacular. The location of the hotel, in our opinion, couldn't be any better. It's just off Duval, at almost the halfway point. No matter where you are, you're not to far from "home". We have not eaten at the Cafe Marquesa, but most of the reviews are very good. We have stayed at some very nice places in Key West, but this is by far our favorite. Enjoy!

I now know why this hotel is ranked the best in Key West; it is fantastic. From the very first when Pauline greeted my husband and I, I knew we'd be fine. The room was lovely (#16) and the grounds beautiful. We spent wonderful time just hanging in the pool watching the birds and laughing at the lizards. Coffee in the morning and ice tea in the afternoon available by the pool. The staff was very friendly and professional. They recommended good food and helped us find our way around. The off street parking is a must and the central location meant we didn't have to use the car. We enjoyed escaping back here when we were tired of walking and touring Key West. I HIGHLY recommend this place.

Only warning; if you come to check in and park in the single spot on Fleming St be very careful. The way the drive crests the sidewalk it will tear the bottom out of a car. I was very worried about my rental, but it seemed okay afterwards.

Room Tip: I loved #16 which is a suite on the 3rd floor; however, there are rooms that look right into the cen...

This was our first trip to Key West and we stayed for five nights. We were in Room #11. A terrific hotel. All of the staff made us feel welcome and were always accommodating to our needs. Everything was clean inside and out. The bed was perfect, ice bucket was always full. Turn down service was great too. Perfect location, the pool area was great. We will be planning another trip down to Key West in the future and will be looking forward to staying at the Marquesa Hotel again.

Having owned a home in Key West many years ago, we never needed to stay at a hotel.
Now we return for pure pleasure and over the September 1st we decided to stay at The Marquesa for 6 nights.
This hotel is first rate. Guests are made to feel very welcome and it is an oasis in paradise.
We had a suite with a patio. There are just five of these newer accommodations situated above the waterfalls.
These I believe are more expensive than the rooms and the total cost for 6 nights was approx. $2275 Taxes included. The most desirable ones are # 23 and 24 but if you need complete privacy go for #27 .
#25 and #26 just have the next suites' neighbours passing them.
One night our A/C stopped and the following morning we requested the maintenance person look at it.
The managers were so considerate that they insisted that the breakfast that day was on them.
Very thoughtful!
They also knew that we were not impressed with the Marquesa Cafe and offered us a bottle of wine but we declined.
The only suggestions I have is that another umbrella be placed over the sunchairs nearest to the waterfall.
Everyone wanted the shade when we were there as it was so hot! Also it was unfortunate that 2 of the guests saved
4 loungers and 4 table chairs to accommodate themselves and 2 other outside friends.
At the time we did not know this and we had no shaded chairs. Perhaps a sign for hotel guests only?
Would we stay here again- Definitely.

We stayed at the Marquesa for a week 8-30- 9-7, what a wonderful hotel, a little gem, we stayed in room 14, wonderful room, comfortable beds, great sheets, love, love, love . Pool area beautiful, clean, people that work here are wonderful, helpful, dinner at the marquesa for our anniversary night was spectacular, I can't say enough. I am glad my first time in key west was at the marquesa. It's lovely. Close to everything, but out of the noise of the parties. 2 blocks to duval. We loved it

Hotel is small and very near city center.. Walking distance to everything. They have the best fine dining in the town. Reserve early. Always sold out. Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. Pool area is beautiful. Parking is very safe. Shopping is nearby.

Room Tip: Stay away from the Main Street.

This hotel is fantastic! It has less than 30 rooms, and half of them you enter from the inner sanctum where the pools are which makes it seem like an oasis. These rooms have porches on them where you can sit and enjoy the foliage, with a coffee or glass of wine. The service is phenomenal, and very personalized. Nothing is too trivial to ask for! The rooms was well appointed and there is a turn down service every evening! Convenient to almost everything. We did not rent a car, and walked or took the trolley around. Cannot wait to come back!
