“I Told You I Was Sick”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

Yes, the title of this review is actually on a tombstone in the Key West Cemetery along with some other amusing good-byes. If you are the type who is interested in how people choose to represent themselves after death or just the logistics on building a cemetery where there isn't that much soil and people are mostly buried on top of the ground.

There is a self-guided tour map available and guided tours are also available, but this cemetery, in the "dead" center of town, is a fun place just to stroll around and have a look.

“Kind of sad, but you can see big lizards”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

We went here one afternoon and overall there are certainly old graves here but none of them are particularly beautiful or interesting. We were surprised to see some rather large lizards or iguanas here which was probably the most interesting thing. They do have a map of the gravestones with good descriptions but most of them are really rather non-descript or poorly kept. Overall we were disappointed.

“Interesting place!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

We rented bikes and rode over and thru the cemetery. The Iguanas and chickens add to the appeal of this place but the main draw is its history and interesting residents. Definately a must see when in Key West.

“Lizards!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

This is your typical cemetery, with the addition of beautiful flowers and enormous lizards that sun themselves on the graves. The history of this site is very interesting. Good to see.
