“Perfect place to spend the day.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2014

Did a half-day sort of trip with my wife and loved it. We rode bikes back to the beach it was about 5 mins from the front, costs a few bucks to get in. We kinda drove past the fort, didn't feel like a tour but it looked interesting. I was more there for the beach which is the nicest in the area in my opinion ... especially for swimming. Some people said it was rocky, but only a bit near the shore. We went in at the end where the point was. I'm from Canada so I'm used to rocky lakes up north and this place was not even close. Water was sooo warm and inviting. Great place to picnic or spend the day laying on the beach watching boats go by, and even snorkeling. There are places to chain bikes, washrooms, tables, food stand, showers .. so its all right there. I would say this is the one place to visit in the area.

“Fort Zachary was much better than I thought it would be with beach, great snorkeling, sunset, and no crowds!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2014 via mobile

Loved the snorkeling! Saw more fish here than on our boat trip. Very family friendly and a nice escape from the crowded touristy areas of Key West.

“Homeschool History”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014 via mobile

We came here to visit during vacation and to earn some homeschooling credit. It was fun walking around and seeing the beautiful views of the ocean.

“bring water shoes!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

Perfect spot for a hot day, rented chairs & snorkle equipment from friendly beach staff. Only downside were the rocks, impossible to navigate the shoreline and wade in the water without beach shoes - ouch!

“great fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

Snorkel for $10. Snorkeling was amazing out by the rocks lots of fish all sizes to see. Chair and umbrella rental 20$ for the day. Food at the concessions was very reasonable priced. Although bring your own.....its allowed!
