“Very Cool State Park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012

This is a really cool place, but don't try to walk here - it is VERY long. Get a cab then walk around for a while. Nice beach, but very rocky.

“Beach time”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

The water is beautiful and the beach is nice except when you try to go in the water.. Very rocky bottom. Boulders! They do rent lounge chairs for you to lay on. I would recommend water shoes

“Best Beach on island for swimming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

Great protective area on beach for kids, only covered picnic area. Lots of trees, place to buy food, showers, restrooms ect. Go snorkeling behind rocks. Ride bikes to get there. Walk is a trek but there is a fort to see as well. We loved the nearby echo museum that was free. You can lern lots about saving coral reefs.

“Beautiful afternoon on the beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

We ready some reviews in advance and learned that this beach is not white sand but rather rocks and coral so we picked up some beach shoes at CVS on Simonton for $10 each and cruised over. We thought it was fantastic - you can rent chairs and umbrellas there are bathrooms, showers and a little snack bar. A slight turn from the beach is Sunset Park where you could sit and watch the sun go down. Looked awesome. Worth a visit and an easy bike ride - though parking the car is also easy and close by

“History Buff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

So much to learn, the fact that it is in the shape it is after all these years, is just unreal. This was the best istory lesson I had. Loved just walking the grounds, and looking @ the old cannons.
