Saw the sunset at Mallory Square midweek on 1/28/04. It wasn't wild and crazy like I expected. It was lots of tourists like me trying to get pics of the sunset. The nearby hotels and shops were upscale. The street entertainers at water's edge were interesting to watch while awaiting the sunset (take your camera). One entertainer, w/french accent, had trained cats; one guy juggled fire atop a unicycle. Small vendors sold handmade jewelry, etc. Shortly after sunset, people disbursed to nearby shops or Duval Street or just relaxed at waters edge. This is the location where cruise ships come in during day. While sitting on Mallory Square, it is amazing to think about how far "down" on the map you are in this tropical island called Key West. A nice escape!
