“Can't wait to go back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2013

Parrot key was an awesome experience. It was my first time in key west, part of time for fantasy fest part time to enjoy the real key west. I loved the location...a mile to the circus! Easily accessible by bike or scooter. The hotel was clean, the grounds we clean and neat. The parking was a challenge if you have a car, but there is no need. The staff was awesome and friendly at all times. They have 4 pools which is great. Love Rutanya! Hello to everybody!

We booked a room here very last minute as upon arrival in Key West discovered it was F1 Powerboat Racing World Championships. With an extra 15-20,000 people in town, accommodation was virtually non existent and the only room left was $462+ $28 tourist tax! It was that or the car.
The staff were very amenable and we were directed to our room, car parking was an issue, with know-where near enough spaces for rooms, we ended up leaving ours in the check in point, otherwise it was a case of parking next door in the supermarkets car park!!!
The room 46b was very nice and clean and lovely view of the ocean. I felt like I needed a ladder to scale the enormous bed, but creak and moan (not me!) the bed or rather the frame. My husband is quite restless and it was soo noisy. The television had sub titles on which was a great facility for the hard of hearing, but very distracting for me. The receptionist told us they are set up like that and there is not an option to take them off - ridiculous. The black out curtains are a good facility, but not when they don't meet in the middle, it almost defeats the point of having them. At that price you would think they could throw in breakfast, even a continental, but no, that was extra. The coffee machine & coffee in the lounge area was nice, but some milk pots and sugar to complete the offering would have helped!
Don't get me wrong there wasn't anything dramatically wrong, but I have paid a lot less and had a lot more for my money. Next time (if there is a next time as I'm from the UK) I would defiantly book ahead and not go when there is some big event in town and hotels hike the prices up to unrealistic and unjustified amounts.

Room Tip: Overlooking the ocean

What a great place to stay in KW when you don't want to be directly in old town. You are a 10 min ride to all the nite life. This resort is top notch. Rooms are spacious and clean. The grounds are amazing with 4 swimming pool areas to choose from. This place is a keeper.

Room Tip: Depends on how "alone" you wanton be...near the pools is very nice though...

I read the reviews on TripAdvisor about the Parrot Key and decided to stay there while in Key West. Very nice room, friendly staff and enjoyable. I would stay there again.
I thought the drinks at the bar were a little high.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the west end, a better view and one upstairs.

Beautiful room with a marvelous view! Personal is very friendly and helpfull. We enjoyed our stay in November. The pools were very pretty and there was always a chair available. After a day at the center of Key West it was very pleasant to come back to the hotel, relax and enjoy the quitness on our small beach in front of our room. We had a 2 queensize bedroom on the water side. It was perfect!

Room Tip: All rooms are beautiful, but the ones on the waterfront have their own little beach.

One of the favorite parts of my trip to the keys was staying at this resort. As soon as you pull up to the resort you can see how beautiful everything looks. There is not one employee that won't go above and beyond to make your stay one to remember . especially Gabby, Oriana, and Brianna

We stayed in August for a week. I was impressed with the property and would recommend it as a reasonably priced nice place to stay. They have 4 pools and sunbathing areas that are remote from each other and very pretty. The bar dinning area is great for a late breakfast or lunch and drinks for those not wishing to venture into town. The parking is limited but you can park next door in the drugstore lot if need be. The rooms are large and spacious with porches that allow you to enjoy coffee or cocktails in the open air. They have waterfront rooms but they are not really so save your money. The property is a distance from the local activity at the other end of town but accessible via car or taxi.

Room Tip: Unless you are a large family ( large room on the upper floor) do not get a waterfront room. There...
