“bad parking & "resort" bar closes at 8 pm”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013 via mobile

The room is very nice. The parking was terrible, with only enough parking for 1/2 the guests...we had to walk a long way to our room & park in a Walgreen's parking lot. Another disappointment is that the bar closes at 8pm (but on the night we were here it closed at 7pm), not very good for adults that want to unwind without having to drive to town or pay for a taxi. Also road construction and the new one way road system made driving around the immediate area very difficult.

I throughly had a very enjoyable stay at the Parrot Key Hotel and Resort. The staff was very amicable and approachable, they made it fun when I had to go ask for something. The pools were probably there spotlight attraction. So beautiful! They put salt water instead of chlorine and it feels great! There are four to choose from so you never have to worry about it getting too crowded. Overall really enjoyed myself and Parrot Key will be a definite choice if I ever travel back to key west :)

We were hoping that our stay would match the expectations we had based on their web site and previous reviews. We were not aware that we had to walk up 2-3 flights of stairs to get to our suite. 2 adults were on floor 2 and that floor was comfortable. 2 adults were on the 3rd floor and it was quite small with beds that were so small they seemed to be meant for children. The pools were fine but the cafe was very misleading. Food seemed pre-prepared and microwaved. Though the ambiance of the place was pleasant with lots of flowers, plants and trees, there was a very "tight squeeze" to the place. No beach to speak of and the health center had 2 machines of 5 out of order.

Want to start out with thanking Ruttanya, she was so personable and attentive to our needs, she upgraded us to a beautiful suite, which it only got better from there. Ruttanya went above and beyond and was the start to a great weekend!
The resort is just beautiful in every way, it has 4 pools, one with a café and bar, it is so relaxing that you don't really have to leave, but for a $10-15 (one- way) cab fare, you can be on Duval St. in a few minutes for those activities.
The décor is old Key West with the porches and all, we loved it! The suite was a 2-story with 1 king, 1 queen and a queen pull out couch with 2 bathrooms. Our room was very clean, comfortable and spacious. There is a $25/resort fee added to your daily bill, but once you are there you won't mind it at all, it is so worth it!
We took the (free) shuttle service to Smathers Beach for the day, showed our room key and got (free) lounge chairs, if you need an umbrella that will cost you $10. Also there are no restaurants or stores around this beach, so we took our own drinks and lunch.
Can't wait to go back to Parrot Key Resorts!

This beautiful property has a lovely boutiquish feel with multiple pools to lounge next to, a great little bar and very cool landscaping. The rooms are pristine, open and airy with nice balconies overlooking the water perfect for relaxing and breathing in the ocean breeze. The thing we valued most about our stay at parrot key was the top notch customer service. We made a mistake when making our reservation and their manager, Sean Bacon, personally went out of his way to ensured all our requests were met which was quite a feat, as we were on a girls weekend with extremely high-maintinance pregnant women. :) We loved out relaxing time at Parrot Key!

Resort is very nice, beautiful landscape, nice people, only problem we saw was dirty tiles a round the pool just over the water, very dirty and greasy. The room with two queen beds missing coffee table to pud coffee down when you watch TV, refrigerator is to small to pud anything in ( really, 12"x8"x20" is not much space for family). Not really good parking, hotel parking to small for all guests and shearing parking with Walgreen is little to much for money you spend. We think for that much money you can find better resort in Keys. This was our first time experience in this resort and next time we will spend more time to pick up the right one.

The resort does not live upto the rosy pictures and high prices. For this price you could find better located resorts in Keys with better service. Parking is terrible and baggage needs to be hauled 2/3 floors. The helper sent to help us dumped the bags at bottom of entrance stairs and left. We did not bother calling for help when we are checking out. Hey do have great pools. The sandy area shown in pictures is useless and is not easily accessible. The cafe is overpriced and average. We are not cing back.
