“Paradise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

First, let me say I have NO idea how almost 100 people rated this as poor or terrible - not sure what they were looking for, but this place was amazing. I stayed here for the weekend, and though I had a lot of plans for my stay in Key West, I didn't even end up leaving the property because it was such a beautiful place.

The rooms: I stayed in a ground level one bedroom, which had its own little beach area and lounge chair, as well as a little patio with a couple of chairs. The room is decorated in typical beach cottage style - nice and big, comfortable bed, pretty bathroom. Absolutely no complaints - loved being able to go outside in the morning and read on my little section of beach.

Grounds - they were beautifully maintained. Everything is attached with little "lanes"; I got there at about 10 at night, and it was like a little sanctuary. As people have said - it's next to a Walgreens, but you would never know because of the beautiful design. Large, lush plants everywhere really create an oasis vibe. There are 4 pools to choose from - each is fairly small, with the exception of the main one, and they are all separated by little paths.

Food: They don't serve dinner, which is fine given that Key West has so many restaurants that you should go out and try. The food served during the day is good - really quick, decent quality. Good poolside food!

I'm not sure what else to add - if you're looking for more of a party vibe, don't come here. This is a great place to soak up the sun and relax. Downtown is just a short cab ride away, and Key West is so small that it doesn't take any time at all to get anywhere. I would go back in a heartbeat!

“Quality hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012 via mobile

My wife and I stayed in a garden, one bedroom suite. The quality of the suite was very good. The room was comfortable and well appointed and we had a reasonably priced breakfast next to the pool. Staff were helpful - there wasn't a bottle opener but one was sent in 5 mins. There was a coffee maker in the room but no kettle - guys, please get a kettle for making tea! I also agree with a previous comment that there should be a shuttle bus, parking is difficult in Key West and a shuttle bus would be helpful, although taxis are plentiful along Duval St.

I would consider staying again, but I would also look into more centrally located hotels.

“Gorgeous place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

One of the nicest places I have ever stayed in. Very comfortable and well appointed suite. Bed was amazingly comfortable with two balconies, one overlooking the water and the other the swimming pools and garden area. Extremely clean, wonderful views, and so comfortable. Staff are charming and helpful. Can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: 24B has fantastic views

“Great Venue”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

H
ad the occasion to stay at the Parrot Key....what a great venue....everyone was so friendly, courteous, helpful. Rooms were decorated very nicely....just cannot say enough good things about this place. Our group was having a cup of coffee one morning...nice man aproached us...smiled..said hello and stopped to ask if we were enjoying our stay. We engaged in nice conversation expressing our delight in the hotel...then asked if he was the manager..."no" he said he was the owner...he was so nice and you could tell he was very proud of his establishment..and he shoul be.. I would definitely go back....Had to take a cab to town but only cost $4.00 and definitely worth it as cabbies were great and so much easier.

“TRULY A RESORT HOTEL”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

Since this was our first time in Key West, we didn't realize that our little 'getaway' was coinciding with the power boat races. The Parrot Key was the only hotel available to us. We definitely 'lucked out'. The landscape, the set up of the rooms, and the four pools were more than we could ask for. We are definitll going back and will, again, pick this hotel.
Of course, the only drawback is the location. We got lucky and were able to find a scooter; without this, the cab fares would have broke the bank.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the rooms with a porch and your own little beach area. Sometimes we had trouble gett...
