This restaurant definitely was not as advertised. First of all, it's located right next to the noisy highway, so if you eat outside, you have the ambiance of trucks and cars go by. Some people have mentioned that this is a great location for a romantic dinner, they must think the sound of traffic is romantic. That aside, let's talk about the food. The salads were pre made and obviously held in a cooler until served. The meals themselves were lackluster at best. My wife had a shrimp and pasta dish and the pasta was clearly old and overcooked. The shrimp part of the dish was tough and rubbery and lacking flavor. I had a grilled fish dish and it didn't taste very grilled. There was mention of this being a great place to watch the sunset. I'm not sure why since it's on the east side of the island and surrounded by trees so you cannot view the sunset at all. Maybe people mistook the headlights on the highway for the sun setting. Finally, I had emailed ahead of time and mentioned that this was a special occasion, my wife's birthday, and I was assured by the person that responded to me, that they would preset our table with flowers and a candle and make sure that we had special treatment. Upon arriving no one seemed to know about any special requests and the special table we received was a two top, outside, facing the parking lot with no preset anything. For the same price we went to Morada Bay the following night and had an amazing meal, actually saw the sunset, and sat at a table in the sand while barefoot.
The Conch House is unimpressive at best, overpriced and should be ashamed of itself. Clearly we will not return.

This customer has every right to be upset with us for not acknowledging his wife's special occasion. Our manager did not look at the reservation book that night as he always does. That is clearly unacceptable on our part, and it is very hard to recover when something like this is missed.
That said, there are a few points that need to be addressed.
We are not and have never advertised our restaurant as a place to view the sunset. We are a Conch style house (Old Keys) nestled in a tropical garden setting and also not on the water.
We are not on the road either, there is a 50' buffer of natiive trees and foilage between the road and our elegant wrap around porch.
All of our dishes, (entrees, appetizers, soups, etc) are made from scratch and our seafood is bought fresh daily from the KL Fisheries and prepared to order.
We also like Morada Bay, the sunset views and food are wonderful. I don't believe we are overpriced, our dinner entrees start at
$13.
Our family and staff take pride in welcoming and treating all of our customers as part of the family. All of us are commited to make sure this doesen't happen again.
