the servers had some major attitude. the drinks came after the food. i had to ask for silverware and the server rolled her eyes at me!!! at the end of the meal a different server asked if we wanted dessert and when we said yes, she got upset and dragged her feet to get a dessert platter. maybe i could understand if the place was at capacity and very busy, but we were the only ones there.
We had breakfast at the Key Largo Conch House twice while visiting Key Largo. We ate on the wraparound porch one morning and in their garden area the next day. This is a family owned restaurant. The staff was so friendly and the food was very good! Each day they had two morning specials in addition to their printed menu items. Everything is made fresh, including their coffee cake. We visited here after reading great reviews on tripadvisor. Their parrot, Romeo, was quite entertaining and Chief, their dog, kept a friendly vigil over the place. I highly recommend this place!
Went to the Conch House/Coffee Bar for lunch. Don't forget to bring your laptop if you need to make plans for your trip around the Keys as wifi is free and it's a very comfortable atmosphere to hang.
Had 2 teens and their grandmom with us and we all enjoyed the meal.
Lobster bisque was EXCELLENT.
Both teens had smoothies - strawberry banana was better than plain strawberry but both were very tasty.
Everything tasted fresh and homemade, especially the Key Lime Pie - living up to its "among the best in Key Largo" repuation - definitely creamy with the right hint of limes, whipped cream on the side and drizzled with a sweet lime/caramely sauce.
Say hi to Chief the yellow labrador!
Even though we had been there we still drove by it because it is somewhat hidden by trees. However, make sure you find it, as it is well worth it. We went there 3 times for breakfast (the omelets are made with real eggs) and once for dinner. It was all excellent. Their coffee was so good that I bought a bag of whole beans to bring back home. Breakfasts are very well priced. For dinner there are candles, tablecloths and chair pads and the dinner was great, too. The lobster bisque was the best I've ever had.
