“Good Value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2014

This is good value for money in Key Largo - anywhere in the Keys is expensive. Talking to other visitors, most of the accommodation is outdated and worn, unless you pay double for an upmarket hotel.
We had room 138 - nonsmoking, very clean, definitely tired, worn furniture and bedding etc, but in the end it was very comfortable and roomy.
We enjoyed sitting on the balcony overlooking the canal, watching the boats go by.

Wifi was excellent. 2 bathrooms one up and one down, both very clean.
Aircon and ceiling fans were great. Staff friendly and helpful.
We didn't get a flat screen TV, but never put the TV on once anyway.

The noisy pub at the end was only a problem one night and it was silent after 10pm.
Would stay there again.

We just spend an evening here. the rooms are rather big, and a bit outdated to say the least, but the Inn is convieniently located close to US 1 and backs right up against a canal. It is also within walking distance to a great restaurant- The Key Largo Conch House

Good location in key largo and unusual in terms of the two floor layout. House keeping twice a week only and the rooms show this as they could definitely do with a clean. Only thing I would say is if you book through some British websites watch the local tax addition which in our case was $50 for a two day stay.

We enjoyed our stay here, the rooms were large and had a kitchen and a deck to sit on. We really enjoyed looking over the water from the deck. The cleanliness was okay for us. we would stay here again.

We were scheduled to stay here for 3 nights and after the first night moved to a different hotel. The carpet is filthy and there was dirt hanging from the fan in the bathroon. The sofa sleeper bed was worse than sleeping on a rock beach. We requested a non-smoking room and the room and bedding reaked of smoke. The kitchen had one spoon and 3 forks and no pan. The only positive was the pool was clean and nice

Nice place to stay, it was clean, conveniently located and staffed with friendly help. It was nice to have a full kitchen and plenty of room for our whole party. Located close to coral reef state park, dive snorkel and fishing charters as well as other Key Largo attractions.

Slipped away for a Florida road trip. called last minute and RAINBOW REEF DIVE CENTER to get some bottom time and they hooked me up at a good rate at this inn. Right on the Port Largo canal with all the dive boats, fish boats, snorkel boats passing by. You get a 2 level condo style suite with two balconies over the canal to watch and listen to the boats, breezes, birds. Nice clean kitchenette, with coffee maker and coffee to start the day, Grab a towel and take a dip in the pool and get with the program. Ground floor laundry and short walks down to the convenience stores for some fridge stores like beer, snacks. Parking never a problem. You only get Monday Friday maid service, and if you're not a pig, that works just fine. King size bed up with own bath and tv and good internet if your computer isn't a pos. nice sofa bed, chair & tv on lower level with another bath. I even extended this stay and the strong winds cancelled dive trips so just turned those days into road trips to Marathon and Key West. Need anything or extra towels just stop by front desk, very nice people and maintenance guy is always around if there is a problem. It's not the Ritz but it's in the Keys and it is a place to relax and enjoy the water and listen to the music coming from Sharkey's across the canal while you get some sun by the pool and suck down a barley pop. Also the guest guide book on the tv table is full of lots of good info. Had a nice fresh yellow fin snapper at Sharkey's one night. The folks at RAINBOW REEF DIVE center are the best and nicest folks and their new boat, TROPICAL ODYSSEY 46' is beautiful. They have 3 nice boats, TROPICAL ADVENTURE 42' is nice too. Did the AOW diver add on with them and so my time was busy and fun. RRDC also recommended "CAT 3" grill & pub and it is good fun too with super food. The owner is out front tending the smoker all the time and so lots of really good treats coming through that kitchen, and stuffed burgers are a main event there.
All the restaurants will cook up your fresh catch if you bring it to them, about a 1 lb size. Very cool hearing the stories as you eat great food and drink local brews or fun drinks.
KEY WEST INN is my Key Largo address next time and can't say enough nice things about the folks at RAINBOW REEF DIVE CENTER, Capt. Dean, Capt. Jordan, Rex, Rachel, Nate and many others and Store manager Claude is one of the nicest and most helpful persons I've ever met.
Relaxed now in Michigan looking at retreating snow but I'm still in Key Largo and ready to dive.
