I have had two meals at his restaurant in the last week and can honestly say that the food was above average for the price. If I wanted to be picky then the bar prices are steep especially if you choose to drink wine by the glass.

The location is great, sunset is spectacular and I found the service both friendly and accomodating. I have eaten here previously and in my opinion it is still as good as ever.

We had dinner there twice this year..First they lost our reservation for the deck (they had a waiting line to get in) and then during a weekday they were short of help and the help they had was-so what!. The view is wonderful-the food exspensive and the service- awful. In the last few years(5) we have watched as so many good restaurants go slowly fron great-to average-to poor., Sundowners is now-full of itself. An attitude of we have enough business-who cares whether you like us or not-plenty more waiting. Too bad. Over the years-atleast 15 dinners-she has been wonderful, but she is sinking fast.

Thanks to the reviews here on TripAdvisor my family and I truly enjoyed our experience at Sundowners. My only advice would be better parking.

Sundowners is my favorite restaurant in the Keys. I am from the Ft. Lauderdale area and make it a point to eat at Sundowners whenever I am in the Keys. The "Yellowtail in a Bag" is the absolute best. It is a special, so it is not always on the menu. If they are serving it when you go, you have to try it. As a backup, I would recommend the Parmesan Encrusted Yellowtail.

The salads are very fresh everytime I go and the fish tastes like it just came off the boat. The Shrimp Kabang was one of the tastiest appetizers I have had. The dessert, white chocalote creme brule, was also amazing.

The atmosphere is not to be rivaled in all of the Keys. It is an absolutely "unbelievalbe" view. The drinks are outstanding and the service matches. If you are traveling in the Keys, you must try Sundowners. It is located just as you come into the Keys on the "Bayside."
