We ate at Sundowner's based on other reviews. We were not disappointed. The proximity to the Marriott resort is a plus. The blackened grouper was excellent. The Key Lime Pie was excellent, but a little spendy at $8 a slice. It was a Friday night and they had a guy playing guitar and singing songs outside. Overall a great experience.

Not a bad place if you're looking for somewhere to hang out out and have a decent bite to eat on the water. Definitely not a great restaurant by any means but falls into the same quality as most of the bar like, fried food restaurants of the keys. Being on the water is this restaurants strongest point.

Been to this restuarant twice, the first time I did not learn my lesson. We had a special birthday, called in advance to make sure we could eat outside to watch the Suset was informed no problem. Showed up and we we cattled inside and advised we could not eat outside as there no space even thought most tables we empty. None the less the service was slow, most of the staff are young and hang out at the bar talking to each other. The food was over cooked and greasy not to mention cold. Asked the waiter to fix the problem was told the kitchen was cold and that the food was hot when it came out? None the less very poor overall from management to staff, not to mention we saw two freaking rats by the entrance of the place as we left! The setting and location is great but the food and service will turn a possible wonderful experience into a regretful one - STAY AWAY

We tried almost all of the restaurants in Key Largo in our weeks' visit. We would have eaten at our hotel but the prices were way off base and then we discovered Sundowners! The food is great-fish or prime rib. We went back a second night and it was even better during the week. Service was great and helpful. Food choices varied and the view absolutely fantastic. We will return whenever we are in the area and my husband is a food broker!!
Prices were fare and drinks $8 but the wine choices were better than most. A must in Key Largo!
