This was the venue for a wedding which I was attending, so I stayed in a one-bedroom suite for two nights. The room was nice, but not extraordinary or any better than what I would expect from similarly priced hotels. What stood out to me about this hotel were the outstanding service and level of attention from staff and the intimate, private, relaxing and inviting feel of this small property. Another big plus was the location next to Snappers restaurant and bar, under common ownership. We ate two meals there, and also had drinks at the bar. The food was fresh and excellent, and we never had to wait for a table. Service was prompt. We could get drinks at Snappers bar and bring them over to the lodge pool. The location was close to the main attractions. We went to John Pennekamp State Park and souvenir shopping. When I booked the one bedroom suite, I was asked if I wanted a king bed or two single beds. Since I was traveling with a friend, I asked for two single beds. Often two beds is not a choice at small hotels, so I was happy with that. There was a separate living room area with a sleeper sofa and TV, which was decorated nicely. The living area opened to a screened in sitting area overlooking the pool. The lobby was very close. There is comfortable seating in the lobby, which is where the continental breakfast (included with room) was. Breakfast was pretty basic, but good – muffins, Danish, juice, coffee, cereal. There is a nice balcony off the lobby. Having a refrigerator in the room was convenient. The resort was a perfect choice for a wedding. Since the hotel is smaller (12-15 rooms), the entire property was sold out to the wedding party and wedding guests. It was like our own private resort! The wedding was at the gazebo in the sand area by the marina. For the reception, tables were set up in the sand, and the tiki bar, food, DJ, dance floor were around the pool area.
