“Rustic Beachy Charm”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

My mother and I stayed here two nights. We stayed in the bonefish cabin. This cabin has a nice deck and is a few steps away from the water. The water area has free kayaks to use and plenty of seats to watch the sunset. The cabins are close to area attractions with plenty to do. The rooms were simple but nice. There was a minifridge and a microwave for us to use. In the mornings about 8am the office provided coffee and muffins.

We stayed at this quaint little place this past weekend. It was our first trip to the Keys & we stayed in #15. The staff members were pleasant & made us feel welcome. Although #15 was closer to the road & next to the office, with the exception of hearing an ambulance once in the 4 days we were there, we heard no traffic. Both the bedroom & main room had a/c units & it kept the temperature comfortable. A lot of hotels will start banging on the door at 10:00 or so to clean up, but this lovely place left us alone. If we needed trash bags or towels, we went to the office to get them. We were able to cook in the kitchen instead of eating out a lot & the drawers were stocked with utensils, pots & pans, the basics. The beds were comfortable with freshly laundered linens. We used the kayaks, swam at the small private beach & saw some spectacular sunsets. We will definitely be going back again in the very near future & hope to become regulars.

This resort is nothing shy of amazing while my wife spent her days laying on the beach in the hammock, I enjoyed snorkeling with the marine wildlife in the waters Jimmy Buffet must've been around while writing some of his songs. We traveled all of the Keys from the top to the bottom during our stay, this place was found to be the most relaxing. A few of the great perks is the use of the kayaks, while you can get out on the water and it is a little rough, as it was for us a few times, there are also many times that you go out and the water is very calm (head to the right facing out and go into the coves, even the ones marked private, we saw a manatee in one of four coves we explored). Another perk is that the staff will do anything and everything to make your stay comfortable, you ask for it and they will help you get it. The local snorkeling is awesome, there are tons of jelly fish in the water there, we stayed June 17-23, and I mean tons!! just wear water sock or shoes. I had fun taking sticks in the water to stir them up to see them swim. There are two white buoys, snorkel around them and in between them, you will see that the grass clears and there is plenty to see there.

ENJOY YOUR STAY!! 2.5 hours from Key West a million hours from the rest of the world!!

Room Tip: Our room was rather large as we chose the room with the full kitchen. So we had 2 beds a pull out be...

The Seafarer Resort was one of our favorite spots of our 10 day Florida vacation. The atmosphere was so relaxed and the scenery was beautiful. We had fun mingling with the other guests enjoying the beach, kayaking, and watching the sunsets. Henry, the owner, and staff were so friendly. We hope to return to the Seafarer for a return visit.

Room Tip: The rooms are old but nice and comfortable. We had a two bedroom cottage with a full kitchen and li...

After reading the reviews and the information on the Seafarer website I knew exactly what to expect from this property. It is a small, beachy feel resort with clean accommodations and friendly staff. We had a 1 bedroom with a kitchen and it was very comfortable. You need to know that only the basic cleaning items are provided and any cooking supplies you may want should be brought with you. The resort kindly offers orange juice, coffee and small muffins each morning if you find yourself illprepared. The use of kayaks is included as are beach towels. We were asked each morning if we needed anything, the staff are always there to fill your needs and answer your questions. We enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: Choose a suite far from the highway as you may be able to hear the traffic.

Nice little cottage!!  It’s larger than it looks on the website, although the bathroom was tiny (just the toilet and shower).  It was perfect for two people.  Two air conditioners (bedroom and living room) kept the whole space comfortable.  Housekeeping was “limited” during our stay, with fresh towels available upon request.  Breakfast was coffee and muffins.  The grounds were quaint, I guess they’d be considered “old Florida”, with lots of places to sit right by the water.  We used the free kayaks for a few hours one afternoon and loved paddling around the mangroves and across the bay.  The staff was laid back and friendly, and offered us their recommendations for restaurants.

We stayed in room 12, a garden view (cheaper) since we figured we wouldn't be in the room much anyways. We checked in and the staff was very friendly; however, when I went to use the bathroom there was actual poop on the seat from the previous user of the room. Given we just drove 2.5 hours from Key West-I cleaned it off myself and used the restroom. The bathroom was clearly not cleaned well before we checked in.

The private beach is tiny; however, they do offer free kayak's which was fun. We kayaked to the right which has some cool mangroves and such to check out. The water is shallow which is nice for if children are there. They also have paddleboards to rent for $20/hour, which seems expensive to me. If you are new to paddleboarding beware of ocean waves, they are harder to stay up on. Just a warning to newbies.

There was a storm during the first night we stayed there and during the heavy rainfall we turned on the lights I noticed there were ants in our bed. Yes, ants. I also noticed some around the room. Needless to say we did not get a good nights sleep.

Also, the mosquitos in the area are VERY BAD. They light tiki torches; however, bring bug spray. The resort is cute and convenient, but our room was a disaster. I did not complain while I was there (who wants to complain and get upset on their vacation?)...but I'm more angry now that I write this review that I didn't say something when I had the chance. Seafarers be warned!!!
