I keep trying to give Buzzard's Roost another chance. Today, two of us wanted to have a nice lunch, sitting at the bar. Mike, the bartender, is great! He always checks to see if we need anything and continuously refills my beverage glass.
I ordered the Brie and my boyfriend had a simple burger, medium. There were only 6 other people in the restaurant and it took about 20 minutes for our food to arrive. The Brie round was in the center, sitting on fresh fruit (grapes and apple slices) and thin toasted slices of Italian bread. Shame on the kitchen! They had burnt the Italian bread BLACK on one side and placed it face down, so the customer would not notice! This is absolutely unforgivable in a nice restaurant.
Of course, I sent it back and the whole Brie dish was prepared again. This time the bread was not burnt. By then, my boyfriend had finished his burger and an hour had passed. We weren't in any rush and it wasn't Mike's fault that the kitchen burned the toast and tried to pass it off.
This used to be one of our favorite restaurants with great service and food. I would never bring clients or friends here because the food is too unpredictable.
