We have been going to this place for years and it's always been very good. We love the location and always sit outside by the canal. The fish wrap is excellent! It's definitely out of the way and hard to find so look for the car with the buzzard in the field off US1.

We recently ate at the Buzzards and had some mixed results.

Booked a table outside which turned out to be a screened in enclosure with a bar playing sports on flat screen. There were some tables actually outside by the marina but we were not told there was a difference.

Service was spotty, waitress missed an order, starters came out at very different times. She then served a couple of entrees while we were still eating the starters. We had to tell her to hold onto the other entrees until we actually were ready for them.

Some of the food was very good. Ceviche was excellent as was a seared tuna. I had a blackened hogfish which was a bit too salty. prime rib was average and the southwest chicken dish had a sauce that did not work well. Mixed starter was pretty good. Other dishes, all non-fish, were ok.

This is probably a place to go if you are in the know about which dishes they do good and which to avoid.

We have been visiting key largo for the past 4 years. The first year we stayed a street over from this restaurant. It has continued to be our favorite place to eat. The food is always good and reasonable in price. I like the relaxed atmosphere.
We have eaten at many restaurants in key Largo but always make sure to visit this restaurant. The only draw back is they do not have mixed drinks. They do have a good selection of wine, beer and wine coolers. As one of the other writers wrote, be sure to have a piece of their coconut cake. you will never have another piece that is quite the same.

Used the Buzzards roost for breakfast and Dinner, the food was excellent, service a bit slow but hey you are in the keys so relaxed is always good, the owner was there the night we visited and came to talk to us to get our opinions and was interested in how we found the place as it is slightly of the tourist track, Highly recommend a visit and the food is worth the wait
