excellent conch fritters and the mahi mahi was very good too in the spicy blue cheese cream sauce. Very friendly staff. The best pina colada I've ever had! We'll definitely be back.

I agree 100% with the previous reviewer about the Fish House. I also had the pan sauteed yellowtail snapper. It was the best piece of fish I have ever eaten in my life! It was even good the next day when I ate the leftovers cold for lunch. The atmosphere might not be to everyone's liking, but the food is outstanding. It's worth the trip to Key Largo to eat here.
First of all, these people who posted poor reviews of this place must have been looking for something else. If you want fine dining with tablecloths, do not go to the Fish House. If you want an incredible selection of fresh seafood with the options of preparing it in about 100 different incredible manners, this is your place. No, it is not cheap. But you get exactly what you pay for. I ordered the yellowtail snapper pan sauteed, and it was almost more than I could eat (I am not a small man!). My group talked about this place our entire trip after having eaten here the first night. You will read about Calypso's, and yes, that place was fun as well, but for pure food enjoyment, Fish House is the king of Key Largo.
The food is excellent but basic. The staff is very friendly. The portions are plentiful. This is a basic seafood place with wood tables and the island feel. Casual dining and great for bringing the family.
We ate at the fish house on our first night at Key Largo, we started out at the fish house encore, but quickly left after we found nothing to our liking to eat. We went next door to the fish house, the atmosphere was so much better...I didn't feel like I didn't belong at the fish house like I did at the encore. It was kinda good, but not worth $80 for the two of us to eat, without even having drinks. The people there were very friendly there though, but the food was not what I expected after reading all the rave reviews on trip advisor. Nothing like spending $80 on dinner and still being hungry when I was finished.
