The license-plate decor at Mrs. Mac's is creative and gets your immediate attention, but the staff and the food make lasting impressions.
Despite the varied lunch menu, I decided to have a simple fish sandwich. The fresh, local fish was fried in a deliciously crisp, light tempura-like batter. The "mmms" from around the table indicated that my companions were equally pleased with their selections. We knew immediately we would have to return to sample the dinner menu.
Three days later--three days, mind you--our former waitress welcomed us back as we entered and asked if we would like to have the same table as we had days before. No, we're not frequent visitors; we had only been there that one time for lunch. No, we're not big tippers. No, we don't have pink hair or other unusual, distinguishing features. Yes, we did change our clothes, yet she remembered. How amazing is that?
As it turns out, even the amazing staff couldn't compare to the heavenly whole lobster stuffed with crab. I can't believe I ate the whole thing! Got elastic? Give it a try!

After visiting Key Largo maybe a dozen times, My wife and I are lovers of Mrs. Macs, During a 3 week stay in the Keys, we will probably visit there 10 times mainly for dinner. I'll have the Shrimp basket and LOVE it every time. My wife particularly likes the Conch Chowder. She's convinced that it is the best in the Keys. We can't wait for our next trip to the Keys to go to Mrs. Mac's again.

I come to the keys often and I decided to try mac's agian after not having a great meal the first time, but my friend wanted to go. Well, what amazes me is how some restuarants take the keys laid back style and believe that its o.k. to run your place of business like that, to have a dirty dark a/c-less shack and try to pull off serving food there is disquisting almost instulting to try and make you believe that they are following the correct health laws and guide lines, The food wasn't exspensive but I am one to believe that you get what you pay for, especially when it comes to food. The service was slow and if you weren't a local that the waitress couldn't grease up for her tip you were forgottened about. I won't be back, i found other good places for lunch, different from what they seem to think. Best tip for travelers, open your eyes sometimes if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck looks like a duck its a duck!

We stopped here for dinner while staying in Islamorada for dinner. The food was excellent, I had a blackened fish that was delicious. The service was good, fun atmosphere and good value. There is seating both inside and outside. If you're looking for good food, I'd definitely recommend stopping here - MM 99.4 heading south.
