We live in Aventura, Florida and wanted to get away for a few days mid week. The Hotel was very pretty, clean and quiet. The beach was clean and the service nice.

The pool area, although nice was not clean. The sides of the pool had lots of mold on it. Like the kind you see when you don't clean your shower tiles.

Other than that, I definitely would recommend the Hotel. It was better than we expected and we felt like we were on a quiet Island away from the Big City.

I definitely would recommend staying there for families. It's very kid friendly. You can rent a jet ski or boat. There is a dock and nature trail. Also, it's near other Restaurants if you don't want to eat at the Hotel. When you check in they give you a free card for their special Lime Frosty. Very good. The outdoor eating area is nice. The prices are in line with average restaurant prices. I would definitely go there again.

MAKE SURE if you request an ocean view that you don't get a room that is behind large trees that are not cut and block the view of the ocean. I don't know if the trees are not allowed to be cut, but it's another thing you have to ask before getting an ocean view. Some people who had ocean views couldn't see through the trees.

We just came back from a week at Key Largo Grande. What a great experience. We had two adjoining rooms which were very roomy and comfortable. We were on the third floor - ocean view with exceptional views every day and night.
The pool was fabulous and Ivona (sp) who I believe was the pool manager did a great job of enforcing hotel policies and keeping the pool clean. Cool towels in the afternoon were especially nice. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly although the pace of Florida is alot slower that what Bostonian's are used to. Jean Paul who is one of the food managers was our favorite staff member. He constantly asked us how everything was going and if we needed anything.
The only drawback was that we had originally planned on mainly eating at the resort. We would have had to re-mortgage our house in order to accomplish that! We ate at the restaruant one night and one morning. Food was okay but VERY pricey. After speaking to experienced travelers we went off the property and tried several different restaurants. We would recommend highly Harriets for breakfast and The Bayside Grill for dinner.
If were to make any suggestions at all it would be to have more restaurant choices and food availability at the pool restaurant. Not only would it be more convenient to not have to leave the property as much but would also be financially benefical to the resort.

We recently had the wedding of our dreams, at The Key Largo Grande. The hotel is magnificent and the views are outstanding.
The service was always at the highest level.
The chef designed an amazing menu for our guests. It is now 3 months later, and our guests that traveled in from out of town, are still talking about what a wonderful experience they had at the hotel.

Overall, I would definately recommend this hotel to any family that is looking for a quick trip to the islands, just outside of the city.

We loved staying at Key Largo Grande. We arrived early and had to wait for a room, but Karen took really good care of us and put us in romantic room with a view. We had a corner room with a view of the bay. Everyone was pleasant and worked hard at making our stay wonderful. I would highly recommend this hotel. We didn't eat at the restaurants since there were so many great places to eat on the island. The hotel was quiet and relaxing. We actually liked that the pool was across the parking lot away from the rooms. No pool noise to disturb our quiet time. Everything was clean and well kept. We definately will return. Our little paradise away from home.
