“Great location, good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013

We stayed at the Courtyard Key Largo as a stop on our way down to Key West. After some confusion at the initial check-in (I though I had booked the room but apparently hadn't!), the front desk staff was very helpful in booking a room for the night. We had a nice room on the 3rd floor overlooking the pool and channel. It was nice to sit on the balcony and watch the various snorkeling, diving and tour boats coming and going, etc. The room itself was nice and the bed was comfortable. We both slept well.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the pool side for better views

We recently stayed at this hotel on our way back from Key West. Overall I was pleased with our stay. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We asked the lady at the front desk were a good place to eat dinner was and she provided us with a list of restaurants. Our room was located right on the main floor next to the restaurant in the hotel. As you could image we could hear all the comings and goings of other patrons. Our was clean and the beds were fairly comfortable. My only other complaint beside the location of our room was that there was no breakfast included. Overall impression we would stay here again.

Room Tip: Avoid room next to Cafe.

Stayed here over the memorial day weekend. Great location in Key Largo; easy access to the local attractions such as restaurants, bars, specially the boat tours. The lady who at the front desk was very courteous and helpful when we checked in. Our room was pretty spacious; it had a great view of the marina from balcony. The hotel offered several amenities such as free breakfast if you paid extra money when you book your room; we opted to have breakfast somewhere else.
I would say the best perks of the hotel were the free parking and wifi; the only drawback was the price, but I would expect that price because of the holiday weekend.

such as popcorn, cookies and Tang (remember that stuff?). ( Available after 4PM). Also available are daily copies of USA Today, (but you won't find them at the front desk but on a bookshelf on the west wall of the lobby). This Courtyard is unique since it was remodeled and rebranded from a Ramada Ltd. This location is outstanding , next to the canal that charter fishing and dive boats operate out of. There are around 5 eateries within a 10 min walk and about 20 within a 5 min. drive. However apparently Coconuts recently went out of business, (nothing says welcome like a "No Tresspassing" sign on the front door).
A lot of thinking went into the new floor plan such as squeezing a bistro into a smallerthan usual space and turning part of the 2nd floor hallway in to an exercise room. However that thinking didn't make it to my room (#325). Because of the door connecting #325 to #327, that comfortable sofa is BESIDE the TV (where you can't see the TV). However the desk chair leans back enough that you can use the bed as a foot rest (good luck significant other).
The Bistro has a small (Courtyard standard) menu but is an excellent option on bad weather days . (But prices are higher than off the property). I just wish there was a pizza for one (like Hyatt Place).
If your scheduling is flexible (such as being unemployed like me,by choice), Come the Tues, Wed , Thurs AFTER Memorial Day ( on which northbound US 1 is GRIDLOCKED in the afternoon).
The staff top to bottom is friendly because the hotel has an occupancy rate of about 5% (est).
The restaurants staaf are also friendly ( because you may be their ONLY tip of the day.

Room Tip: Even number rooms face the pool, odd numbers face the perimeter.

Stayed here over the Memorial weekend. Great location in Key Largo, pretty central to a lot of attractions. Right next to the marina where our tour boats docked. This is helpful because you can walk or take a short drive back to the hotel to shower following a snorkel/scuba tour as opposed to using public facilities. The staff was friendly and the lobby was spacious. The rooms were adequate in size, we had 2 queen beds facing the marina. There's a heated pool and hot tub, but we did not use these facilities. The interior hallway and exterior of the building looked like it needed some new paint, but overall, it did not look run down in anyway. Grounds were clean. Free wifi and parking. They allow you to take pool towels for your snorkel/scuba trips so no need to bring your own. ONLY negative parts I could think of was the walls were thin, so if you're a light sleeper, this may not be the hotel for you. Also, if you're looking for luxury and resort like atmosphere, this is also not for you. If you just want a comfortable place to rest after a long day in the ocean, this will suit you just fine.

Room Tip: Walls are thin so ask for room away from elevator to limit guests noise. Marina view is also nice, b...

We stayed here for 4 nights and will likely find elsewhere next time. The best is the location for water sports, we went diving for 3 days, lots of boats by the canal next to the hotel, very convenient. I paid extra for marina view but they gave us a 1st floor unit with limited view (poked your head out and looked far down left then you will see Marina). Among the 4 days, 2 staffs at the front desk were very courteous and helpful but the other 2 did not seem that they want to be there. I also paid for option with daily breakfast but it was not a standard breakfast. We needed to use coupons at the bistro and selected one drink+one hot item or one drink+2 cold items. The service was not fast, and a few people left before their food were ready in order to catch the boats. The bistro opens at 7am on Saturday and Sunday but most diving or snorkeling boats requires passengers be there for equipment fitting or waiver by 7:45 am. I would cauterized this hotel "overpriced".

We stayed here over Mother's Day weekend and it was great. The staff was friendly. The rooms were clean, spacious, quiet and extremely comfy. The view of the marina and canal was gorgeous. The best part is they are dog friendly and we had 3 small ones with us. We were very pleased with the entire experience. We will definitely be staying there again. Great location.
