“Nice motel located by the sea”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013

Nice motel like place with friendly staff and a very good location near the sea. It has a small but nice pool area and the room was clean. The A/C did however not work. Right next to the motel there is a really nice restaurant where we had dinner in enjoying the sunset in the sea with live music and good food and friendly staff. You get a discount on the restaurant when staying on the motel.

Just back from a wonderful few days at Bayside Inn, Key Largo, Fl. We loved the Hotel. We are travelers and have stayed in many places and our # 1 priority is a clean room. Our room at Bayside was very clean and our bed was quite comfortable. We found all of the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The pool was always clean and a perfect temperature... The " Beach" is really more like a Lagoon area with nice white sand and chairs to set in. This area also was well kept. The only negative I would say about this area, is we like a long walking beach and you will not find this on the island. It is not a five star hotel, but they are in the process of updating every room. There are many thing to do without having to drive very far. There is a Bird Sanctuary that we found very interesting, and a Glass Bottom Boat that goes out to the Reefs. There are interesting shops close by and incredible places to eat. Our favorite was right next door, about 100 yards from the Hotel, "Snooks". The food was awesome and the service was GREAT!!! There are also many other quaint restaurants close by, but Snooks was our favorite. They have live music every night and the guys that performed were very good...The sunsets at Bayside Inn are incredible. We read a lot of negative things about this hotel, but this is our experience and we will definitely be returning.. Josie

We stayed here because we attended a wedding that was on-site. If I were a regular - non-wedding-attending-guest and the hotel amenities were not available to me because of the wedding I would be upset. The wedding's dining took place on the beach, so that was unavailable as were the hammocks to the sides of it. The dancing took place on the pool deck, so that was really not the best unless you wanted to hear blaring music while swimming -- and try sleeping during that music! The police were called, despite the hotel telling the bride and groom they could play it until 11pm and no one from the hotel was on site to deal with that!

But enough about the wedding, as for our room itself we went cheap and did not get a bay-view room (which due to the hotel's orientation there can really only be about 6 of those available) instead our windows gave us a nice view of the service road in between two buildings. There was no hand soap in our room, when I asked at the front desk the very unprofessional girl working laughed and said "oops I forgot!" When we inquired about an ice machine there answer was "I think the one on the third floor works." YIKES.

The bathroom was small, the base of the tub was not even and you could feel a tare in it. There were holes in the wall where a new curtain rod had been hung, and there was mold because the fan in the bath room just cold NOT do the trick. Friends of ours stayed in another room and said the hair dryer in their room was dead and the continental breakfast (I don't believe it's mentioned on their website) did not have a lot of offerings.

Needless to say, this was the worst place we stayed while visiting the Keys.

I was disappointed in the condition of this Inn, it is old, the mattress have caverns in them, the sheets wouldn't stay on, the housekeeping was slim at best, getting out of the shower and walking to the bed my feet were filthy. Spider webs on the legs of the furniture, not dusted or swept during our stay. No TV channel guide to be able to find channels familar with - told to surf till we found something. No pen or paper. However, the young man at the desk was extremely helpful, polite and friendly but not so much the older lady. With nothing to compare it will (our first trip to Key Largo) maybe that is what you get for $160 a night.

I went down to check out the place for group trips, they knew before hand why I was coming. The desk staff were fantastic and very helpful they moved me closer to the pool because we had a small child with us and they were also knowledgeable about the local restaurants and such. The pool was nice, looked dirty but, that seemed to be from winds blowing sand all over, the small beach was actually very nice you could swim a bit because it had been dredged out deeper in the center. This was where you could launch the complementary kayaks they had to offer. Snorkeling would not be too bad there as well it is shallow with a surprising amount of sea life (not great mind you) and use a flag or marker so you don't get hit by boats.

The room was disappointing even by my low standards stained carpet and ceilings loose fixtures and poor maid services. I was led to believe that a new manager had been hired to correct the lack of up keep. He has a lot of work ahead of him.

I rated it average only because of the helpful desk staff pool and beach area.

Room Tip: Go in and look at the rooms first several people looked and left, we had booked in advance to see th...

Very friendly staff. No issues with wifi or AC. Fabulous bar and restaurant right next door. Pool is small but ok for cooling off. Wouldn't call it a beach, more like a sandy area before the cement piers. very nice Continental breakfast...overall we paid $140/night for 3 of us (2 double beds) and were centrally located to all the actiivities we wanted to do. I would stay there again.

Room Tip: There is no view in any of the units unless you're in 1 of 3 rooms right at the front. All the...

We have traveled to the Keys numerous times over the years we have never stayed here before and will never go back. Our a/c unit was blowing warm air call maintnance and they brought us a portable unit which was ok until we returned to our room much later that evening after a few drinks well water leaked out of the unit all over the dirty tile floor water and tile make for a very slippery condition which my girlfriend fell and hurt her knee and cut her eyebrow probably needing a stitch or 2 being it was so late we stopped the bleeding and went to bed in the am we notified the manager and were told it was our fault because we were drinking she was more concerned that there was blood on the sheets and pillow case very rude and uncourtious next step see u in court.I would sleep in my truck before i would ever stay there again.
