Owner description: Family owned and operated beach ranch nestled within the Amelia Island State Park, Florida (north of Jacksonville). The Kellys run one of the only full-time licensed outfits offering beach horseback rides in the country. Ranch offers gentle, guided tours starting from the ranch with a short trail ride through the wild maritime hammock, over dunes and then along miles of white pristine beaches of the Atlantic Ocean. This is the perfect place to fulfill that lifetime dream of riding a horse along the ocean. Note: All rides leave directly from the ranch, never from a public parking lot. Can accommodate larger groups.

We enjoyed every bit of our horse back riding trip. The staff was very courteous and professional, the horse were great. The scenery along the way was absolutely gorgeous. Well worth it, thanks again

“Lovely and relaxing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

Went to KSR on Sept 7th, we did the 10 am ride. The Kelly's are lovely people who really seem to care greatly for their horses. You are not allowed to bring any loose items on the ride and sorry no cameras either. They do take pictures on the ride and you can purchase them from the website. The ride was beautiful and peaceful. The horses were gentle and gorgeous. We did know ahead of time that it is a walk only ride, however it would be nice to maybe split into 2 groups and take some folks out for a little trot. A special shout-out to Cisco and E.T. for a nice ride.

“Relaxing Morning Ride”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

Perfect for beginner riders -- easy-going pace, roughly a 5-mile walk where you start by walking the horse along a cooler wooded trail to get to the beach. Then you ride on the shore, along the water's edge, for a fair distance. Exactly as I expected, and the best part, by being off-season, it was just the two of us and our friendly guide. A nice morning out.

“Fine for Non-Riders”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

If taking a slow walk on board a bored horse on the beach is for you - go for it. For experienced riders - you don't even get into a working walk, so you can probably volunteer to warm up anyone's horse for free. For a beach ride that will take your breath away, you'll find that in Ireland, not here.

We advertise and offer a gentle trail ride on our website and brochures (and have for 15 years) not to mention that this has been mentioned on TripAdvisor reviews a number of times. Folks, please "know before you go". THIS IS A GENTLE, WALK-ONLY TRAIL RIDE ON THE BEACH. It's really not fair to go to all-vegan restaurant that doesn't serve cheeseburgers and then write a negative review about it. Thanks for reading our response.

“Ok, this is cool”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

But if you own your own horse, this may not meet your expectation. The ranch and staff are amazing and very accommodating. It is worth the money, but just walking on beach, beautiful and fun. special needs are met here.
