We did not make a reservation, but we were lucky to snag an outdoor table. We sat on the second floor with a view overlooking the restaurant's beach. It was beautiful. I took a picture of the water and palms on my phone. When I showed it to a friend, they said that it looked like a picture that would come with the phone. You cannot see the sunset from here because the restaurant is on the oceanside.

My salad was delicious, but the dressing came in a little throw away plastic cup. When a restaurant serves $30 entrees, I think that they can do better than throw away dishes on a plate. That is my opinion. I saw these dishes at restaurants all over the keys, but to me it is very wasteful.

My husband had grilled yellowtail tuna, and I had pasta with shrimp with a red cream sauce on top. The food was tasty but not outstanding. We come from New Orleans so have high expectations. I did like the banana bread in the bread basket. We really enjoyed ourselves as the overall dining experience was above average.

“Bad crab claws”

Lazy Days

Mar 2, 2008

Couldn't wait to try to stone crab claws. Ordered the "medium" size ones (you get about eight of them) for $30. One bite and I knew they were bad. When crab meat gets old, it smells like ammonia. Whew - they took it back no problem, but I was quite sad. ;(

“Excellent food and incredible view!”

Lazy Days

Accidentlally stumbled on the place by dinghy (staying on a sailboat in the Keys) after visiting Indian Key. What a find! I tried one of the specials that day (pastrami sandwich) and it was as good as any deli in Miami. The dessert wasn't anything as special (chocolate cake) but you can't beat this view in the afternoon with overlooking the ocean -- unbelievable colors in the water

“not too bad”

Lazy Days

Dec 19, 2007

The five of us were here on 12/18/2007 for dinner. We sit out side with a beautiful ocean view. The service was ok. She responded to our requests but I did not feel she was welcoming us. The food size was very generous. But I was not much impressed by the taste, except the lazy conch appetizer. I would not mind going back just for that.

The staff remembered us each time we ate, very nice touch. Anyone who does any diving or snorkeling knows how thirsty you are afterward, Lazy Days brings you each a little pitcher of your beverage so you can keep refilling your glass!
Look, if you don't try the conch appetizer, you're really missing out! Normally I don't like the bouncy rubber band texture of conch, but this little pancake thing they do with a key lime and butter sauce is AMAZING! Really good food, really good service, that's rare for the Keys so don't miss this place right around MM 80. If you're staying at the Hampton Inn, skip The Outback, their service is terrible anyway, walk over to this place instead.
