“Truly an OUTSTANDING breakfast experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2012

Note the name is now Duke's Lazy Loggerhead, and some locals refer to the place as "Duke's" or "Loggerhead" but it is the same restaurant as reviewed here. It is located right at the Jupiter public beach, behind the ball fields just south of Indiantown Rd on A1A. There is only one small sign out by the road and the restaurant is far enough back you may miss it and drive right by. There is plenty of parking, buses and RVs are an easy fit.

This is a very small place, I counted only 15 tables and booths. We went late in the morning to avoid the line, known to be long during peak hours during the season.

The decor makes you very comfortable, and gets you quickly into a south Florida beachy kind of mood. There is contemporary marine and beach art on the walls, lively colors, the old veneer-topped tables with the nautical maps and sea shells embedded therein. You are not overlooking the beach or the water but looking out at the boardwalk and the seagrapes, but the scent and sounds and breeze is there, especially if you choose the outside seating. It makes for a pleasant walk right after the meal.

The help is happy and friendly, getting drinks right away. They serve a special flavored coffee or the diner regular or decaf - just ask for the daily special coffee list. The seating is comfortable and not at all too close.

We ordered the vegetable omelet and the special egg's benedict. There is a fruit and juice choice, and we chose the special hash browns and the rye toast. It took a little longer than normal (about 20 minutes) to come out, but the wait was well worth it because the food was perfect and hot. Very nice plate presentation, plenty of food and fruit slices added on.

Looks like a great lunch menu also, and plan on returning for a lunch on the next visit.

If any readers are familiar with superb dining experience at the old (now relocated) John G's at Lake Worth Beach, this is very reminiscent of the food and dining experience there.

No down side, no negatives, truly an OUTSTANDING breakfast!

“Gem on the beach in Jupiter”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

Only restaurant near the beach in Jupiter. Went there Sunday - day of the offshore boat races. Service and food were great. They were extremely busy. We were able to get a nice table inside. Plus they had the window service.

“Good little inexpensive lunch place!”

Very nice and attentive staff, food comes out really quick, which is great for lunch.
Food was very good, nothing fancy but just right for a beach day.

“One of my favourite local lunch places”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012 via mobile

Try the salads or the Reuben sandwich. My favourite is the grilled portobello salad. Location is also good, close to the beach. Only drawback is sitting outside on the patio. This is just next to the public beach toilets. It smells sometimes. Recently prices have gone up as quantity increased. I would wish smaller portions for a little less money.

“Dog friendly, great location, great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

A great place to have breakfast or lunch. Right near the beach. Dog friendly as well. The beach called Carlin park nearby there allows dogs on beach too. Pancakes are huge and my favorite when i go. Nice selection, friendly staff. Local artists work is displayed on walls inside restaurant.Nice playground located in front of place for kids to play in as well as a baseball field. Concerts and shows perodically are scheduled across the street at the outdoor ampitheater. Take advantage of visiting guanabanas right down the street. A great outdoor gilligans island restaurant that serves fun dishes and are 50% off everday between 3-6pm.. Enjoy the area...
