“Nice visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

When had appointment in palm beach that afternoon ,we always wanted to visit this place. So before the appointment we went to the lighthouse. Th tour is great, if was very interesting. The guide also gave us a little history of the area. Remember you have to climb stairs to get to the top. You have to be in decent shape. I would recommend the light house. The museum was also interesting. Has a lot of artifacts from the local area. So make the trip you will enjoy it.

“the people here , not friendly!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

Here the people are obnoxious, arrogant, rude, snotty... u name it they are not friendly at all. They think they're better than everyone else. People say that in Chicago we have attitudes- here, they make up for it! I hate this place, the restaurants here suck- service and food, I would not recommend for a trip!

“Beautiful, educational tour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

The lighthouse is beautiful and very well preserved. They have the biggest Banyan tree I have ever seen.It is majestic. The museum is neat and shows a lot of the history of Seminoles indians and early pioneers life revolved around the Loxahatchee River and the Jupiter Inlet.
The tour is guided as you cannot walk by yourself due to the Coast Guard Base location. This is the only downside for me as i expected to walk around by myself and spend more time exploring.
The view from the top of the lighthouse is amazing. Very nice to see the Jupiter outlet from the top. Very nice place, extremely knowledgeable guides. Worth a vist !

“Excellent old Florida adventure!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

The lighthouse is located on a Coast Guard base and requires visitors to be with a guide while touring the property. The lady who did our tour, Lisa, was excellent. She is a volunteer with extensive knowledge of the local history. The lighthouse itself is great in all pics. There is a fee for admission with AAA discounts available. It is money well spent. Small children are not permitted to climb the lighthouse. The views from the top are fantastic!

There is an old cracker style Florida house complete with period furnishing on the tour. Lisa told us all about how the family lived in day to day. The most important things were avoiding the heat and bugs. Take your kids and tell them to imagine a summer day in that house with no a/c! The family would sleep in the breezeway to stay cool.

“Jupiter history worth exploring!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

We visited the lighthouse during our visit to Florida. The history of this lighthouse is very interesting and educational. Our family enjoyed the tour. The price is acceptable, but not cheap, it's $9 per adult and $5 for kids. One thing to consider is that you must be able to hike up 105 steps inside the lighthouse and may not be good for small children, people with health issues or those with a fear or heights. It is a bit of a workout, too. It is very windy at the top but the view is lovely. The tour is not self guided so you need to go with group and a guide. The grounds are under lock and key so no entering the lighthouse area on your own. Be sure to use the bathroom before you start the tour because there are no facilities near the lighthouse once you go thru the gates. The guides are knowledgable and nice, and the museum is great. The gift shop is a bit overpriced but there is a mix of nice items along with some cheesy junk from china.Overall a very worthwhile trip, no regrets!
