Historic and scenic. Climb the lighthouse and see far out in the Jupiter Inlet and Atlantic Ocean.

“Awesome View”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2012

The lighthouse is visible for miles but worth the trip to see close up. Easy climb up the 105 steps to see the glorious view from the top. Situated on a Coast Guard Base so times are limited and you must take the tour. Fascinating museum, historic house on the grounds and of course a gift shop.

“Interesting and worth the trip.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2012

I enjoyed the tour. It gives a small glimpse of local history. The caretakers and guides had a family feel to them. It was pleasant and fun.

“Come before 4:00”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2012

I love lighthouses & was looking forward to visiting this one. It is spectacular at night since the Fresnel lens is still operating & they highlight the lighthouse with additional lighting. I came around 4:15 (they close at 5) & was too late for the tour. I had traveled from New England & requested being able to take photos (I didn't want to go to the top). I had to negotiate a price (cost $9 for the tour; was initially asked to pay $10 just to take photos with no tour & eventually paid $7) & was escorted & timed by one of the volunteers. I did get some great shots & the volunteer was an extremely nice boy. Maybe they could extend the tour time a little longer or allow people to tour the lighthouse grounds for a lesser price? Many people do not want or are unable to climb the stairs & $9 seems a lot to pay if you don't go to the top.

“A "Must-See" Place to Visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2012

The Museum, grounds, Lighthouse, and buildings really give you a sense of history about this area. The museum is well thought out and the lighthouse keeper very knowledgeable. The other buildings for tour are a fascinating glimpse into the life of early Florida pioneers.
