you can walk for miles and the sand is lovely hardly any shingle this time of year the beach is quiet just a few joggers
Very nice beach and well-kept. I highly recommend it. Nothing else compares to this beach in this area.
The beaches all run together so if you're visiting it's not a really big deal where you stay since everything is close. Atlantic Beach is more residential, Neptune Beach is slightly more commercial, Jax Beach is younger people & nightlife, and Ponte Vedra is slightly more refined with tougher beach access.
Jacksonville beach is for 18-24 year olds. The bars are kind of trashy with a lot of binge drinking. The beaches have some trash on them because the kids don't care. If you want to party and meet some people in that age range, jax beach is probably great for you. If you want clean beaches and more reserved going out, try Neptune or Atlantic Beach. Just a mile down the beach and its night and day.
had a nice experience and spend a day on the sand, sea was a bit rough but may have been due to a tropical storm south, no such thing as calm before the storm on this particular day however we had plenty of room and peace to enjoy the beach
