The hotel lobby was nice and the room size (Junior Suite) was great. For the most part the hotel staff was nice. There was one night manager who always seemed like I was bothering him the couple of times I had to interact with him. The room cleaning left much to be desired. On the Saturday I stayed I left the privacy sign up until 10 am. When I returned at about 3pm and found no clean towels, beds made or garbage emptied, I inquired about this to the previously unhelpful manager and he told me "I don't know what to tell you, housekeeping is gone for the day" I had come to him because they were at the room next door and I could not communicate with them in their native language and wanted his help. The small pool area needs refurbishing but you can use the Courtyard's across the street on the beach, if your room key works, which mine did only a time or two.

We visited Jacksonville Beach to attend a family wedding. We found the Fairfield Inn to be comfortable with a good breakfast each morning. Across the street is the Marriott Courtyard (on the beach). As a Fairfield Inn guest we were able to use the ammenities at the Courtyard. There is plenty of parking and has easy access to the beach.

The pool looked clean and many people were enjoying it. There was a computer downstairs for our use.

We ate one night at Singletary's Seafood Shack. It really is a shack dating back 60+ years. The seafood is fresh and delicious. We ate out on the screen patio and watched the ships, boats and pelicans going by. Definitely worth the 20 minute drive.

My husband and I stayed four nights and enjoyed the great location to the beach, restaurants and shopping. The room was great and very peaceful, considering how busy the beach traffic can be, you felt like you were away from it all. We will stay again next time we are in town, and the short walk over to the beach is perfect. There is also some real good places for pizza, hamburgers, wings, philly cheesesteak you name it. The drive from the airport was great and the hotel is very easy to find. This was a good value for the location.

My husband and I , along with our two teenage sons, stayed at the Fairfield Inn for 4 days at the end of March. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The hotel is quiet. It is a short walk to the beach, which is very nice--reminded me of Daytona beach with the large area of packed sand leading to softer sand. It appeared to be a very "family" friendly beach--in March anyway. There is a nice continental breakfast buffet (includes fresh fruit, Jimmy Dean BF sandwiches plus the usual fare)
The pool, although small, looks out at the Courtyard Hotel and an open space where , if you look hard, you can see the ocean. You can also use the pool at the Courtyard, which is beachside. We did not go to the Courtyard pool because it is in the shade in the afternoon (and a bit cool in March)
The front desk clerks were very helpful, asking repeatedly if everything was "OK". the only downside was the breakfast hostess, who was not terribly friendly--but not a big deal really.

We stayed for 2 nights at the Fairfield Inn for a 'beach break' on our way to Orlando from Savannah, Georgia. This hotel is at the north end of the beach, it is very quiet and peaceful. It is just across the road from the beach. We strolled along the beach of an evening like many other couples did but during the day the beach was full of surfers and families, it was clean with lifeguards at several points along the beach.

When we arrived at the Fairfield they had a room for us on the ground floor but we asked if there was any other room that we could have so they put us on the second floor, the room was lovely, it was on a corner and we could see part of the sea (there are other hotels acutally on the sea front), the room had 3 windows. Everything was lovely and clean, the bed linen, bathroom etc. we could not fault it. There was no fridge in our room but we did not request one. The reception staff were very good, helpful and smiling. There was free internet access in the lobby, which was used by quite a few guests. The breakfast was typical continental and the breakfast staff were excellent, always cleaning the area and replenishing the food.

There were a few bars down the road but it was very quiet. We found this to be an excellent hotel in a quiet part of Jacksonville Beach. If you want a bustling nightlife this is not the place. If we returned to Jacksonville Beach we would definitely stay here again.

  • Liked — cleanliness and location
  • Disliked — not within walking distance of good restaurants
