“This place is a DUMP!!!!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2008

Do not believe the Hotel website.
The rooms were small and unclean. If you need to bath, bring shower shoes, The shower is nasty, there is not a bathtub and the bathroom is semi clean. Forget about trying to sit and relax in your room , there is not a chair nor room for one. The TV did not work properly, it was probably just old. There is a bar (beer and wine) but when it is open, it is not stocked. Rooms are not serviced and clean towels are not provided, without asking. . The spa has not yet been found, unless aromatherapy is considered garbage and sewage smells. This place is definitely overpriced. However if you like to smoke dope, hook up for a night and party like a drunken sailor this is the Hotel for you.

This was the worst place that we have ever stayed. The website for the hotel is very deceiving. For the price, the stay was not worth it at all! First of all, the room was not cleaned well, the door did not shut all the way, and the surround sound system did not work. They could not replace the system, because they said the hotel was booked. Also, the A/C was a window unit- very disappointing. I got sick during the night from the A/C. Do not base you decision on the website for the hotel. Please find another place to stay!

i stayed here for just under 3 months as i came for a holiday from belfast, northern ireland.and for me personally it was a good and happy experiance and one id do again,it was right beside the beach and all the local night spots, and every sunday we had a great BBQ put on by big charles the sercruity man! who was very polite and helpful indeed .
coming from grey ang gloomy belfast i thouhgt this place was fantastic,so i dont see why most people complain about the seawalk,as it was my home for 3 months,it had character,it had live music and venues, what more do you want! id rather have the seawalk than some over priced hotel anyday.......

The pictures were not of this motel in Jacksonville Beach.
No comforters were on the beds. The room was very rundown and shabby looking.
The stand up shower was so disgusting with mold and peeling paint we decided not to shower at all! The door was broken and couldn't be locked properly. It was made of that cheap plywood. We were given one set of towels for 3 people. There was no phone and an air conditioner from 1973. The courtyard is situated right outside your door so you have to hear people yelling and loud music until one am. The bar had some finger foods set out right outside the only bathroom that reeked of raw sewage. Disgusting! The location is great but this place made me go home and wash all my parts really good!!

First... the rooms look NOTHING like the photos. There are no canopy's, and the bedspreads are stained. Their "renovations" include painting over the bathroom tile... and now that is peeling off. I have not figured out the "spa" portion of the hotel. The airconditioner was so loud that my husband could not sleep, but if we turned it off we roasted. We stayed a week, our tile floors were swept ONCE. (at the beach.....). I bought a broom to clear out the unavoidable sand. We had to pester the "cleaning" lady for towels...she was too busy sitting in a lounge chair in the courtyard. Our trash was emptied twice. It was overall "unclean". When I brought my concerns to the manager, he apologized, but offered no compensation. There is no parking lot for the property. On the weekends, if you go to dinner there will be no public parking when you return due to all the clubs in the area. We rode around for an hour trying to find a place to park, then had to walk 5 blocks in a rain storm. At night, while trying to relax in the courtyard, we had 5 homeless people come to the gate to ask for cigarettes...etc. (This is not their fault... but do expect this on your stay). My sister and family had a room at the Best Western across the street. She paid the same....and had a great room and experience. Too bad they were booked solid, or we would have moved over there.

We checked into this hotel on the basis of a wedding for two friends . They were having the function and the hotel and "spa" ? I did not see a spa anywhere on the premises . As well there was an odor of fesces present at all times . The rooms were small with a half bath . Trying to take a shower took a time of 45 minutes for me and 1 hour for my wife . The water pressure was so bad I could have done better with a garden hose . They had surround sound speakers but no equipment to use it with , towel racks constantly fell off the wall , no ice machine and definitly no bar . The wedding party had to supply all drinks and silverware for their wedding . The so called maid service consisted of one lady who brushed the sheets off not changing them . I know this from seeing her clean . This is not a hotel or spa I would ever recommend to anyone !!! As matter of fact this so called establishment should be shut down!!!!!

A few girlfriends of mine got together for a reunion and decided to stay at the Sea Walk Hotel based on what we found online. The photos were beautiful, the price seemed reasonable, and when we called to make reservations, the clerk promised us a great rate, along with live music, great service, and overall, a great vacation spot.

When we got there, that's not at all what we found. You have to walk into a vacant bar to check in, first of all. But no one serves anything to drink there. We even asked for a soda and apparently, they didn't even have that. When we found the manager, we realized they quoted us one price over the phone, but then it was a different price when we checked in. When we brought that to his attention, his response was "good luck finding another place around here for less". He was rude and very unprofessional.

Our room smelled awful. It smelled like a wet dog the whole four days we were there. Oh, and don't look for the beautiful mosquito netting hanging over the beds you see in the pictures online, because there is no such thing. The refridgerator was full of someone else's left overs, and the bathroom was ridiculous. You might as well take a shower in a coffin because that's about the size of their shower. I made the mistake of hanging my bathing suit on the shower bar beneath the curtain, but when I took it off, it was stained brown because the entire shower rod is rusted through. The towel racks fell off the walls anytime you touched them.

We asked housekeeping to clean out our fridge twice. They never did. We had to clean out the moldy food on our own. We asked housekeeping for fresh towels, and ended up having to find the housekeeping area to pick them up ourselves. They never came to our room one time in four days to refresh our towels, or make the beds, or anything. The service was awful and the housekeeping staff didn't seem to care the guests needed fresh towels.

The live music that was promised us never happened. There is a bar in the middle of the courtyard but no one tends it. There was a cooler full of ice at the bar, and nothing else. There is a stage in the courtyard, but no one performs on it. There is one dirty hammock hanging in the corner of the courtyard surrounded by weeds. I wonder how they could photograph it so niceley to make it look so good on their website.

At the end of our vacation, we arranged a ride to take us to the airport...which is nearly 40 minutes from the hotel by the way. Our driver called the hotel front desk to ask for more specific directions. She spoke with the manager and told us he was very rude to her.

Bottom line, the rooms were a disgusting misrepresentation, the price is up to the management when you get there, and the people that work at the Sea Walk Hotel are either very rude, or they just don't care about their jobs enough to make sure you have a memorable stay. It was a memorable stay though...because now I have a "worst case scenario" to compare all future vacations to.
