The Suites at La Palmeraie consists of three separate suites and was chosen as a gathering place for a family celebration. My son and daughter-in-law, who live in Jacksonville, booked it on their credit card and put down a damage deposit of $900.
Upon our arrival, the owner helped us take our luggage from the parking area to the suite. He explained the accommodations to us and gave us an environmental lecture on plastic water bottles and explained that he had a water filter. In reality, the water had an odor and we were glad we had our bottles of water.
The set up and location were perfect. It was a short walk to the beach. The grounds had an ample size yard for socializing. The flowers were blooming and the shady hammock quite inviting. Our suite had its own courtyard with privacy fence, hammock, and grill.
The bed was a tight fit for the bedroom. Also, It was so close to the floor that it made arising difficult for older folks.
About three weeks after we left, the credit card was assessed a charge of $193 for "1 fitted sheet, 1 duvet cover and 2 pillowcases with faint red stains on them that could not be laundered out after spot treatments, oxidizing soap and multiple washing attempts." (owner's statement in quotes) The owner pointed out that the labor used attempting to clean this was free. How generous! He did apologize for not communicating this problem with them.
My advice: if you are going to stay here, do not use their linens. If you see a spot on anything, call the owner immediately.
