“Good down-home Italian food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2012

Try it - you'll like it. We've been several times and always enjoyed the down-home atmosphere and friendliness of the staff. The owners are Italian and their food is true to Italy. There eggplant dishes are excellent. Last night's special, beef brasato, was to die for. Don't be fooled by the outside, commercial-type building. Inside is warm and welcome.

“Old world italian”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2011

As soon as you enter you think you are back in the Italian restaurant you remember from the old neighborhood. The kitchen is adjacent to the entranceway so the smells are like a friendly greeter at the door. Reservations are recommended as the food is made fresh daily. From the fresh soups and appetizers to the Real Grouper Piccata you will quickly learn you are not at a chain restaurant. The shrimp scampi and the Fettuchinni Alfredo remind me of Brooklyn in an old Italian restaurant. The staff here is fairly young as some are the children of the owners but they are very attentive and familiar with the menu.
The interior of this restaurant might need a modernization, but I am torn as this may take away from the old world charm. The prices are competitive with chain prices and the food is miles ahead. For a romantic evening or a casual dinner with friends this place can not be beat. Save room for the home made cheese cake and canolis.

“Enrico's is A Hit or A Miss.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2011

In about 4 visits to Enrico's, it managed a prefect sliding scale ......down. 1 st visit-excellent 2nd visit-good 3rd visit-mediocre and last visit-disappointing. The cooked garlic paste and bread is sooo good ! Unfortunately lately, it's been the best part of the meal. The service was terrible the last time too. Someone told me she was the family daughter, and not a tennative server at all.
I hate to dwell on the fact Citrus County has no options and is not inviting any in, but why do resturants here look like 1970's former carpet stores with home made signs. It's strange walking in and out as there is no "reception" area with a person. You kinda walk in wondering if you should holler into the kitchen for assistance. Strangely enough, they want reservations too. I suppose there's a reason but still perplexing. Elderly people appear to think this is a fancy night out place.
Perhaps Enrico's could buy a (modern) sign and dress up the dated exterior of this place. Better yet, knock this old thing down and build a modern, welcoming looking building, improve the food again, insist on top notch service, and this could be a success.

“Real Italian food prepared by the owners with pride !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2011

The restaurant is unimpressive from the outside, but as soon as you step in you realize it is different. All of the dishes we've tried are very good. The pastas and sauces are homemade. Be sure to ask for the "Roasted Garlic" dipping oil for the bread...it is free for the asking and yummy if you like garlic. The wine list is unimpressive but functional...we are in small town central Florida after all. Spaghetti, Lasagna, Eggplant Parmesian, Grouper different ways is usually the catch of the day, and other authentic Italian dishes are all prepared for you in a reasonable time. Reservations are highly suggested since the normal crowd is small, but on occasion they call in more help if they have more diners. Well woth the visit.
