We always make a point to come here during spring break. The food is fabulous and the attention to the details, makes dining here a real occasion. This year was no exception. Jim, our waiter, was terrific, explaining we could have any of the seafood prepared any way we would like it. My children love the tuna and garlic mashed potatoes. The bread and the dipping oil are so good you really have to control yourself. I loved the house salad-the dressing was wonderful. This is a bustling place, and a holiday might not be the best time to try Salt Rock. During Spring break they were prompt with a reservation however.

Every year my husband takes me to Salt Rock for my birthday. This year the food was great, as usual. The best steaks I've ever had. Service was good, drinks good, salad good.
But, the only complaint I have is that it was so loud! My husband and I could not attempt to carry on a conversation. The waiter had to yell so we could hear him. Large groups all around us and also a high school athletic banquet right below us with what appeared to be around 80 -100 people.
One note, I would not ever attempt to eat here on Valentines Day as another reviewer did. We stay nearby and always watch the amount of cars in amazement, as they try to park. In fact, I would not eat at any of the nice restaurants in this area on Valentines.
But on any other day, if the noise doesn't bother you and you want the best food ever, give this place a try. Make sure you call for a reservation ahead of time though.

There's no need to wonder about this place. The food and service are terrific. The best steak I've had in years and beautiful seafood also. The decor and service are both great. Make a reservation and get ready for a great evening!

One circle is too good for our experience. We have spent time here during the winter for the last three years. The first year we were here, we ate at the Salt Rock Grill and had a positive experience. As a result we decided to go there for dinner on Valentine's Day last year. We made reservations for 7:00 and arrived at about 6:45 to find two lines of cars in the parking lot backed up into the road and barely moving. Although there was valet parking, it was impossible to get to them. We had hardly made it into the parking lot by 7, so I went in to tell them we were there trying to park. I encountered many people standing around on the stairs and as I went toward the entry, a couple was coming out and told me "Don't bother". When I entered, I found a long line at the hostess desk. I went to explain that we had reservations and found that all the people in line also had reservations.

By luck, a car left right next to our car and my husband was able to park. He came in as I was leaving and I explained the situation. We walked back in to get in line and a couple who had over heard me told us that they had 6:00 reservations. (It was now 7:30.) They had just gotten to the hostess and were told the wait would be another 45 minutes. We left and went elsewhere for dinner.

Clearly reservations meant nothing to the management and they certainly were not interested in their customers. We have eaten in many fine restaurants and have never encountered anything like this. No quality restaurant would allow this to happen and if it did, the manager would be front and center attempting to alleviate the situation. Their disdain for their customers is mindboggling.

We will never go there again and we would discourage anyone who is considering it. Whatever you do, don't go on Valentine's Day!
