“Why we continue to return”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2013

The Harbor Side Resort is nested between the inner coastal water way and the gulf at Indian Rocks (5 minute walk to beach). The two level suite with it's large balcony affords great views of the waterway and passing boat traffic below. When we're not enjoying the village of Indian rocks or its spectacular beach we are quite content relaxing in our condo style suite with all the amenities of home. The staff is extremely accommodating and pay particular attention to our needs and maintaining a clean resort.
Like the birds do each year we will continue to migrate back each year to this little nest in paradise.

Many Thanks

Rick Theriault

After reading the reviews on here was really looking forward to staying ,we arrived on the 14th November for 3 nights, and after doing the parks in Orlando for 17 nights we was definitely looking forward to some peace didn't get that here .For 2 nights we did not sleep ,the room next to us was a duplex room, their bathroom was directly over our bedroom and they liked to put the Jacuzzi on at 10.00 pm which made such a noise that it actually woke my 5yr old daughter up, who the day before had suffered a concussion at Magic Kingdom and had to undergo a CT scan to see if all was ok so she really didn't need the extra disturbance, after about 10 minutes of this I called reception who was not very helpful at all just said that it should go off at 10pm as the water heater goes off then ,it didn't after another 10 minuets I went down to reception who offered to move us at 10.30 pm with a 5yr old I think they must have been joking ,he did tell us that the people were checking out on Saturday so at least we would have some peace then ha ha.
On Saturday more people checked into that room and again liked to use the Jacuzzi ,as it was early we didn't say anything ,however all through the we would be woken by a vibrating noise coming from this room ,it was so loud that the walls in my bathroom actually was vibrating,as it was about 1.30 am we did not call reception as we did not want to wake my daughter.
When I went to check out on Sunday I complained to reception and asked to speak to the duty manager ,there wasn't one but she took my email address and said one would contact me on Tuesday, you got it no contact.
I found the reception staff very unhelpfull and not friendly at all so would never stay here again, and if you want a good nights sleep go somewhere else.

Room Tip: Dont't sleep in room 318

Not a very relaxing environment...loud...sleep quality left a lot to be desired. The staff was not very helpful and had very few smiles. In reading the other reviews of this hotel I began to wonder if we stayed at the same place...I checked...we did! Clearwater is a wonderful place with great access to places to eat, nice beaches wonderful shops. I would highly recommend Clearwater as a place to visit, although I would recommend that visitors stay at another hotel.

We've stayed at this site many times over the years. The last time was to host a beach wedding for our youngest daughter, but that was a few years ago so it was time to go back.

This place really aims to please. Located on the inter-coastal you can get a room overlooking the water with regular dolphin sightings or a room that might get a view of the sunset if your up high enough. They have an assortment of room types, from two story villas, suites with mini kitchens, or just your standard room with a bed and a bathroom (usually connected to a villa)

The rooms are clean and somewhat modern; but it looks like they are updating the rooms so it may just depend on which room you get. I've uploaded some pictures of the villa we had, with the few issues I saw.

Overall it's a nice place in a great spot with excellent service. The beach is right down the street, a CVS that sells beer & wine, as well as some food items plus lots of restaurants in the area. There is plenty to do with the family, you can rent a boat on site, fish from right outside of your room, there's a nice kids pool, as well as a mini golf course on site.

There's only one restaurant there (see my review on Jimmy Guana's restaurant), the Brewmasters that used to be there back in the day was replaced by another restaurant that quickly went under, but there's plenty of others in the area to check out.

I will say that some of the common areas could really stand updating, ie the entrance from the parking garage is nasty. I know I'm being picky, but it is one of your first impressions of the place. They do have a laundry room available for the guests which is always nice, but again a fresh coat of paint would be a plus.

The villa had all of the comforts of home plus some. It had a big balcony with table and chairs. The living room had a desk, couch (with pull out bed), love seat, coffee table, end tables and of course a flat screen tv.

The kitchen had all of the modern appliances, full size fridge with ice maker, coffee maker, electric stove/oven, dishwasher and garbage disposal. Although they could take some tips from Homewood Inn on how to equip the cabinets, it was fully functional and I was able to cook several meals while there with the limited selection of pots, pans and utensils provided.

There's a beautiful island for seating or serving as well as a nice dining area with table and chairs for six.

The bedroom had a king size bed, a flat screen tv, a walk-in closet and looks out over the main living space. The room was very comfortable, but privacy is limited with the open area that looks out to the first floor.

The only bathroom is up there, with access from the hall and bedroom. There is a nice jacuzzi tub, two sinks with vanities, and a shower stall, another good sized room.

There are hall closets on both levels, the whole place is very spacious; if you get the adjoining room you gain a downstairs bathroom as well as sleeping space for four more people.

This was a great spot to host a wedding, but also a very nice spot for a romantic week on the beach for two. I plan to go back and hope that they continue to update it. I really hope another restaurant takes over the old Brewmasters restaurant, that would make the place the ultimate sweet spot in that little niche of Florida. Check out my pics and review of the on site restaurant; happy beach bumming!

Just got back from a four day weekend family reunion. We had a great time, twenty rooms booked for our group and didn't hear a complaint. Book a villa on the third floor overlooking the water. Room 323 has an excellent balcony with probably the best views. You can't go wrong with 323.

The restaurant Jimmy Iguanna's is ok. Just don't expect first rate service. The bar area has happy hour all day Sunday - $2 well drinks and beer. You must go to Crabby Bills, which is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Great food/atmosphere.

The hotel internet is having problems and spotty at best. They are working on getting it resolved.

Room Tip: Room 323 - best room that I saw.

My husband and I were there for an anniversary/reunion type stay. The property is well kept, overlooking the water and the service was excellent. The only problem we had was a sandy bathtub and the guests next to us, tried to open our adjoining door at 1am in the morning. It gave us quite a scare.Other than that we enjoyed the amenities that this fine hotel had to offer.

Room Tip: We did not realize that the rooms with the 2 queens bed were very small...probably should have asked...

My wife and I stayed here as part of a 35th anniversary trip to the Gulf coast. We have stayed here before in a standard room, which are perfectly good hotel rooms, and booked the same again but when we arrived, the manager Charles, on the front desk, chatted to us and found out and gave us a free upgrade to a marina villa suite overlooking the intracoastal.

This was NOT a hotel room and was more like a luxury apartment. Huge lounge/diner with full kitchen and large flat screen TV. Patio doors lead us onto a double size decked balcony with table and chairs. The UPSTAIRS bedroom over looked the lounge and had a huge kingsize bed and another large flat screen TV. There was on en-suite with jacuzzi bath, separate walk in shower and his and hers wash basins. After we had unpacked we went back down to thank Charles for what he had done and he gave us some vouchers for free drinks at the bar!

The hotel itself is very clean and has all the facilities you would expect to find in a resort style hotel. The housekeeping staff work very hard and every day we came back there was a towel or two made into the shape of an animal.

There were two pools and my wife and I used the smaller pool next to the conference centre and were on our own for the three times we went there. The beach is a block away and one of our favorite casual diners, Crabby Bills, is just outside the parking lot.

Once again, THANK YOU Charles for making this trip extra special.

Bill and Pam Carr
