“A perfectly beautiful, peaceful vacation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2010

Wow!! What a wonderful vacation my husband, daughter and I had at Sandy Shores, Indian Rocks Beach, Florida! The hosts, Ned and Myrtle, were AWESOME!! Soooo friendly, considerate and sincere in their desire for us to have the best vacation possible, which we did. We stayed in the "Garden Cottage" and the accommodations were perfect for the three of us - spotlessly, impeccably clean and spacious, right on the beach. Couldn't have asked for more - everything we needed was there, we only needed to buy food. The beach was beautiful and the Gulf waters clean, clear and unbelievably warm. If you want to stay at a property that offers a "little slice of old Florida", without the hype, crowds, noise or partying of other beach towns, do yourself a huge favour and stay with Ned and Myrtle. You will have peace, quiet, privacy, and your own slice of heaven, to boot, and go home rested, relaxed and with many happy memories. My family would highly recommend this property and will definitely be staying again. Good to note that a lot of Ned and Myrtle's guests are repeat customers, which is a testimony to how great the place is.

“A comfortable place on a beautiful beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2009

We stayed in Gulf Cottage for the week after Thanksgiving. You can see the sea from the living room and we had our breakfast on the table in the garden and laid on the loungers or took chairs down on to the beautiful white sand beach.

There is a steady procession of pelicans flying past and the owners supply a book to enable you to identify the other Floridda beach birds which we loved. We only saw a pair of dolphins once but we know they were out there.

The accommodation was good with more local restaurants within walking distance than we could get to eat in including one with live music and a dance floor so all-in-all we had a a good break.

“Superb”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2009

Amid lush tropical gardens is an attractive, comfortable cottage facing the dunes and gulf to house you for a restful vacation. The hosts, Myrtle and Ned Hall welcome you to their Florida paradise and make you feel special while you vacation in their imaculate and well fitted cottage. The gulf provides a beautiful, wide beach full of shells, sea birds, fishing and sitting spots and nightly exquisite sunsets. Many good restaurants and museums, golf, gardens, festivals are nearby - all in all a wonderful holiday retreat.

“Clean Cute Charming Cottage on the beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2007

We stayed in the Cottage Gulf at Sandy Shores in Indian Rocks Beach the last week in May 07. It is a 1-bedroom gulf front cottage right on the beach with incredible views of the Gulf. The bedroom has a comfortable king-size bed and a large closet. The bathroom is nice and clean. The living room has a large -screen TV and a couch that can turn into a sofa bed. There is a dining area with a table and 4 chairs. There is a galley kitchen with all the amenities of home. The entire cottage is clean, well-kept, and tastefully decorated that is nice and bright. You can see the gulf views from the windows in the living room and dining area. The owners, Ned and Myrtle, who live in a separate building right on the same property are very nice, friendly, helpful and gracious hosts who take care of and take pride in their properties. They also have a Cottage Patio for rent, in addition to the Cottage Gulf. There is a coin-operated washer/dryer laundry room on the property. They have beach chairs, loungers, beach umbrellas, and a kayak that the cottage renters can use. They provide linens and towels so you don't have to bring your own. We enjoyed staying in the "Cottage Gulf". It is the perfect size for a couple on vacation looking for an "old Florida" style cottage with character and charm that is also clean, private, quiet, and cute with beautiful beach front views and convenient to shops and restaurants. We will be back someday.
