“Lovely cottages in Indian Rocks Beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2008

We just returned from a picture perfect week in Indian Rocks Beach, Fl. This was our first visit to this quiet little beach town and we have already booked a return visit at Gulfside resorts for next year! We stayed at 810 Gulfside and loved how quiet and relaxing it was. The cottages at Gulfside and at Sarah's Seaside are adorable! You spend the week with the same folks coming and going from the beach/pool each day which was nice. We walked to some great casual restaurants. Our teenage son loved walking to the Kooky Coconut for his daily ice cream. We road the bicycles on site and all the guests took turns kayaking right off the beach! It was one of the most relaxing weeks ever.

Can't wait to get back there!

We just got back from our stay at Sarah's Seaside. We were in a 3BR/2BA unit and can't wait to go back again. The grounds were beautiful and immaculate. The "condo" was spotless and had everything we could want for the whole week, including beach and bath towels, a fully equipped kitchen (including crock pot and wine glasses). The staff was wonderful and responsive to our questions. They had a ton of beach toys for the kids, beach chairs and cushions, sea kayaks and canoes, pool toys... I couldn't believe how fantastic EVERYTHING was. The beach and pool were nicely quiet and Sarah's is very well located in Indian Rocks Beach. Sarah's Seaside is very well maintained and updated.

We stayed at Sarah's Seaside Cottages, part of Gulfside and just down the beach. There were eight units, some studios, 1-BR and 2-BRs, and we (a couple) were in a studio unit. The studios are very compact but well-arranged, with everything you need. If you like to "spread out" or plan to spend a lot of time in your rooms, I would go for the 1-BR.

This place, including the tropical gardens and pool, is absolutely immaculate, and the owners could not be more helpful. Anything we asked for was there within minutes. Very nicely decorated, perfect size pool for the number of units, convenient laundry facilities, grills, and outdoor private seating.

We loved the fact that many of the guests gathered for sunset on the beach. There were plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas and beach towels.

The only thing I missed was having hi-speed internet in our room. However, we were able to use our laptop out by the pool so I probably used the computer as much as I needed to anyway.

The location is wonderful, with several good restaurants and a pharmacy within walking distance. I think, if you stay here, you will fall in love with the place, and be planning your return trip before you've been there your first full day!

My family and I just spent our second week of vacation at 810 Gulfside, Indian Rocks Beach, Florida. We've been to other places in Florida but have found this charming "home away from home" to be the most accomodating and relaxing. Large, clean rooms set in a mini-jungle right on the beach promote relaxation and comfort. An ultra-clean pool between the buildings and the beach was the highlight for my 5-year old son. The beach is clean, well-maintained and not overly crowded. Conveniently located no more than 45 minutes from Tampa International Airport, 810 is about midway between Clearwater Beach and Pass-A-Grille Beach allowing access to both and all in between in a short drive. Eating establishments, groceries, souveniers, gas, drug stores and more are but a short drive in either direction. Lee and Mary are kind, attentive hosts and I doubt you could find a more relaxing place to stay anywhere on the strand.

I am somewhat reluctant to write this review and share this slice of paradise, Sarah’s Seaside, with anyone else. We stayed at Sarah’s Seaside from March 17th to 24th for a “Family and Friends” vacation. I found out about this wonderful property from other extended family members who have been vacationing at 810 Gulfside (sister property) for many years. We ranted a total of 3 units: 3 bedroom beachfront (308C), 1 bedroom (308D), & studio (308B). Our group was multi-generational. Everyone was extremely pleased with the location (right on the beach) and the property as a whole. The units and landscaping are beautiful and very well maintained. Everything was spotlessly clean and all the units had everything we could wish for. The furnishings and linens are good quality and there are laundry facilities on premises so we could pack less (washer is free; dryer takes quarters). Beach toys for kids, sea kayaks, beach chairs, and umbrellas are all provided right on site for free.

The heated pool & beach were very clean and sand as soft as powdered sugar. Although it was spring break, Indian Rocks Beach and surrounding areas south of Clearwater were not crowed at all. The property owners/manager were very welcoming, helpful, and responsive to any questions. They provided us with plenty of info on area attractions & dining. Some of the cottages date back to 1910 and have been restored with great care. The dedication and pride of the owners definitely shows in how well the property is maintained.

We barbequed 2 times right on the deck of the cottage and the seafood lovers in the group were delighted with the fresh seafood stores available just down the street. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance or a short drive for those of us who want total R&R. There are grocery and convenience stores nearby; even massage therapy is offered across the street. The location is great for those who want many activities but is perfect for those who seek to relax by the beach and fall asleep at night listening to the ocean.

This was for me the most relaxing vacation I have ever taken. I hope to be back at Sarah’s Seaside as soon as the opportunity presents itself.

We researched the area thoroughly prior to our vacation and recommend the following restaurants after dining there during our trip: Lighthouse Donuts (across the street from Sarah’s Seaside; great service and the best cranberry-orange-coconut muffins on the planet); Kooky Cooconut (formally Tacky Turtle very close to 810 Guflside, great Cuban sandwiches and more), The Skinny Rooster (Gourmet breakfast, lunch/brunch in Largo – aprox. 10 minute drive), La Cachette (wonderful, charming, gourmet French restaurant right across the street; check out their website for more info!), Cajun Café on the Bayou (Pinellas Park), My Place on the Beach (walking distance), JD’s Restaurant & Lounge (just down on Gulf Blvd, cute “Old Florida” décor; had good breakfast at low prices). We suggest you avoid Los Mexicanos (across the street); the food was ok but service terrible.

We are coming off a wonderful week at Gulfside Resorts and highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Indian Rocks Beach. You'll be hard pressed to find a more welcoming and hospitable staff. Paul and Lee were incredible. They made our experience a memorable one from the first phone call.

We rented a two bedroom unit and were pleasantly surprised by how updated and contemporary it was. Everything was new, or very close to it. You're only a few shorts steps to the pool and a beautiful stretch of beach. It's an easy walk to a number of great restaurants, a fresh fish market, and a CVS with everything you'll ever need including - but not limited to - swim suits, grill brushes, and boogie boards.

We also hope you have the opportunity to meet a gentleman named George (he owns one of the units) who gave our Gulfside experience an unparalled personal touch. George took the time to teach our children about the different birds and wildlife around us and actually gave our son a handful of shark's teeth upon our departure. He has achieved legendary status in our home. Our children asked that we rent the same unit next year to "be close to George." We have already made our reservation.

If you are looking to experience Florida in a way you never can from a high-rise condo or a place where everyone's wearing Mickey Mouse ears, look no further than Gulfside Resorts. You will not be disappointed.
