We have gone here repeatedly for years and have made sure to visit each time, but this was a disappointment for us. We were happy to wait for a table as we love this place but of the many times we've been there, busy or slow, the food had always been consistently good. Sadly not this time.
I asked our server how big the oysters were and they said they were good size, but when they arrived, some of them were no bigger than a quarter. Our salads were fine, which was a relief. They make very good salads they bring to the table in a large bowl and allow us to help ourselves to more. My seafood was overcooked and tough, a first for me here. Usually it's cooked just right. I tried to tell our server that it wasn't blackened as soon as it arrived and they insisted it was but visibly, it clearly was not. I tried to eat it anyway but it was just too tough and chewy. My wifes friend seafood had a good flavor but was not as good as it normally is.
But JD's has been a favorite for too long. Everyone has an off night and so we will try them again and hope for the delicious food in an old world atmosphere that we have grown to love for years and years.
