“Excellent fresh fish, great service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2014

Guppy's is a locals favorite, they have been around for over 20 years and it just seems to get better. They buy fresh fish right off the boats unlike several of its competitors. I have never had a bad meal here. They do add gratuity to all of their checks which I don't really like but would still highly recommend a visit here.

“Almost worth the wait”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2014

This is a popular beach restaurant. We had a 30 minute wait when we arrived at 6 pm. We decided to wait in the bar which was standing room only. You really have to be wary at the bar because a drink will slide off down slope if you don't watch it. They do give you coasters and I suggest you use them, otherwise your drink will slide off and hit the floor like a kamikaze airplane. We did get seated and the service was prompt. My wife had Cobia, which is a great gulf fish and it was very fresh, although the portions are modest. I had shrimp and grits was which was really not up to Louisiana standards. I suggest you stick with the fish here. The prices are a bit above average but the food was not. I would really just rate this an average place as far as dinner goes. The bar is too small to come here for drinks or happy hour.

“Evening Meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2014

We eat out every night on vacation. 3rd visit to Indian Rocks area. No doubt that Guppy's is our overall favorite. They do not take reservations for groups of 6 and below but you can call one hour in advance to put your name on list. We arrived around 7 and were seated immediately. Parking available at side parking lot but valet available .
Lobster bisque soup amazing. Coconut shrimp one of our favorites. Best sweet tea in the area. (No one else even close) Servers attentive and pleasant. Note: A 15% tip will be automatically added to your check. You will have to initial on your check that you were aware. (You will not begrudge the tip) Stay hungry my friends !

“Good place to eat on the beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2014

Went here on Sunday night without a reservation. We were seated within 20 minutes. Our waiter Rob, though very busy, took the time to explain the menu in depth. Every one had a good meal ranging from blackened group to NY Strip. All were done correctly. I had the upside down apple pie with cinnamon ice cream for desert, which was very good. Good place on the beach for dinner.
