We enjoyed Guppy's so much that we returned again for a second time in the same week. Their house shrimp entree (served on fried green tomatoes with a butter sauce and feta cheese) is extraordinary! Service was prompt and prices are reasonable. Interestingly enough, the place was as packed at 5 p.m. (first visit) as it was at 7 p.m. (second visit). The reputation and popularity of this place is well founded.
DO NOT believe the bad reviews! I am sure an Applebees can be found in the Tampa Bay area, this is NO Applebees. We ate lunch there on the way to the Sheraton Sand Key (which is also GREAT!!). We liked it so much we came back for dinner the following night. From the appetizer through the desert it was all top notch!!! The staff was super friendly and made great recommendations. My wife and I will be coming back for sure!
